Kelly & Jones Notes of Wine Collection is a collection of perfume inspired by popular types of wine. These perfumes compliment their namesake, meaning that you can enjoy your glass of Riesling while wearing #2 Riesling.
Background on the inspiration – Riesling is a white wine that tastes fruity and green. It’s light, refreshing and is a good “starter” wine in my opinion. Living in Washington, I’m most familiar with Washington Riesling which is sweeter and “peachier” than the European Reislings that I’ve tried. The Kelly & Jones fragrance reminds me of American Reisling. Before trying Kelly & Jones #2 Riesling, I always thought of Annick Goutal Petite Cherie EDT as the “Riesling” of perfumes.
#2 Riesling is a fresh and crisp peach and pear. It reminds me of summer farmer’s markets. The scent starts to get a tart greenness that works well with the crisp, summer fruits. This is a straight forward “green” fruity fragrance. It doesn’t smell juvenile or “fake” like so many fruity perfumes do. This one smells fresh and crisp and is perfect for any age.
Notes of Riesling include white peach, anjou pear, bergamot, and raspberry leaf.
Give it a try if you like sheer fruity fragrances or perfumes like CREED Spring Flower, Annick Goutal Petite Cherie, and/or Byredo Pulp. I think it’s a great choice for those that like “airy” fragrances or are looking for something casual to wear during the day. It’s also a good fragrance for summer.
#2 Riesling has average projection and below average longevity. It wears more like an EDT in my opinion and benefits from spraying liberally.
#2 Riesling retails for $84 for 1.7 oz. at Kelly & Jones.
Victoria’s Final EauPINION – A “green” peach and pear fragrance. This is a good choice for those that like light, sheer fragrances for day/work wear or for summer/warmer climates.
