Keiko Mecheri Un Jour D’Ete EDP Perfume Review

Keiko Mecheri Un Jour d'ete

I’ve never visited the French Riviera but because of cultural influences like Pablo Picasso, Brigitte Bardot and La Cage aux Folles, it’s one of my “favorite places that I’ve never been” – sea, sun, art, gambling and celebs…

Un Jour d’Été reminds me of lemon and creamy ylang ylang in the opening. It’s citrus, woodsy, creamy and floral. It’s like a really glamorous Bain de Soleil (which I wear as perfume in the summer). There’s salt air and a light breeze with orange blossoms, jasmine and gardenia all with a subtle hint of spice. It dries down to this creamy amber with a hint of charred woods. With more wear, it’s a sheer amber and a “furry” sun-warmed musk.

Things like Un Jour d’Ete have been done before but I like stuff like this sort of stuff. And as far as “St. Tropez” beach scents go, this is one of my favorites.

Brigitte Bardot in St. Tropez

Notes listed include Sicilian lemon, petit grain, mandarin, floral accord, coconut, aromatic accord, amber and musk. Launched in 2012.

Give Un Jour d’Ete a try if you like tropical scents. Or if you like perfumes like CREED Virgin Island Water, Lili Bermuda South Water, Tom Ford Neroli Portofino, Estee Lauder Bronze Goddess, M.Micallef Ylang in Gold, Smell Bent St. Tropez Dispenser and/or Estee Lauder Sensuous Nude.

Projection and longevity are average.

The 2.5 oz bottle retails for $115 at MiN NY. Samples are also available for purchase.

Victoria’s Final EauPINIONSt. Tropez floral with a beachy amber. As far as French Riviera beach scents go, this one is really good.
