Juliette Has A Gun Vengeance Extreme EDP Perfume Review

Juliette Has A Gun Vengeance Extreme 100ml
According to Juliette Has a Gun, one gets vengeance on one’s enemies by wearing a TON of patchouli. Since many people seem to dislike patchouli, I think Juliette Has a Gun is on to something…

Vengeance Extreme opens with a cocoa powder and camphoric patchouli. The patchouli is rather potent and I would say you must like patchouli to wear Vengeance Extreme. A rose appears and mixes seamlessly with the pungent patchouli. The overall feeling is that of a damp rose garden in fall. There is a smell of earth and thorny roses. The scent is very linear. It wears as a damp patchouli rose on me for hours and hours. Eventually a “soft” vanilla appears and the rose fades some. But, the base is still heavy on patchouli. The overall feel of the fragrance is earthy and dark. This is a dirty rose perfume.

Vengeance Extreme is the type of fragrance that I enjoy but I don’t find it original at all. In fact, it reminds me very much of L’Artisan Parfumeur Voleur de Roses, the “baba” of rose-patch perfumes. But, there is a difference. Juliette Has a Gun’s version is much stronger and frankly, more abrasive because of this. It’s more “in yo face”. And it lasts on the skin for much longer.

How does Vengeance Extreme (Kill Bill: Volume 2) differ from Lady Vengeance (Kill Bill: Volume 1)? Much more patchouli and less vanilla. That’s how. Imagine Lady Vengeance mixed with Midnight Oud.

Notes listed include patchouli, Bulgarian rose, and Madagascar vanilla.

Give Vengeance Extreme if you like patchouli-rose fragrances or perfumes like the “original” Prada, L’Artisan Parfumeur Voleur de Roses, Tom Ford White Patchouli, Malle Portrait of a Lady, Juliette Has a Gun Midnight Oud, and/or Histoires de Parfums Rosam. Vengeance Extreme is very patchouli heavy. I say you must like patchouli to like this. I also find that this fragrance is unisex but it definitely leans towards the masculine end of the spectrum. This is a dirty, masculine rose.

This scent has above average projection and longevity. It really smells “concentrated”. I do feel it’s a good value because of that.

A 3.4 oz bottle of Vengeance Extreme retails for $135 and is available at Beautyhabit. Samples are also available for purchase.

Victoria’s Final EauPINIONDamp patchouli and rose. Like I said, this is not a novel concept and it seems that every niche line has their own version of patchouli-rose. This one is a stronger version of Voleur de Roses. I suggest if you like Voleur de Roses but find it too weak, try this.

  1. I have to agree with you on the unoriginal feeling of this. I actually feel that way about almost this whole line, and the ones that do feel original, I just don’t like. So I have definitely struggled to “get” what others have found to appreciate in it. Maybe someday!

    1. I really like Calamity J and Midnight Oud. The others weren’t for me or I found too boring…I’m talking to you Not a Perfume.

Don’t worry about it. There are plenty of other lovely scents out there!

  2. I like this fragrance! Dark, sexy and slightly trampy. I don’t have enough perfume to know if it’s unique, but I thought was a good scent to have in the arsenal for when your feeling like – “baby let’s get it on”… 😉

    1. Haha, I do see that. The concept isn’t unique but it’s projection is good. I feel like if you do want a rose/patchouli in your collection, this is the best one for the money.

  3. I feel like so much of what this line does is redundant. I liked the first few launches but the following ones didn’t seem “new”.
