Juliette Has a Gun is a line that works on giving us an edgy, rich bohemian image…you can see that from their website. The line is obviously for women in their 20’s and early 30’s that are on the prowl and have a few bucks to spare. Romantina has went a different direction. Instead of selling us a bad girl attitude, it attempting to tell an innocent love story set in Italy. Does it succeed? No. Juliette Has a Gun is not ready to settle down. And she sure isn’t going to change her ways. I like women like that.
Romantina opens with indolic white florals and patchouli. And then I get metallic rose scented lipstick. Romantina dries down to the JHaG-aide. It’s vanilla, musk, patchouli with rose. And there’s an addition of a mossy vetiver (the remains of gentleman’s cologne from the night before). The impression is not that Romantina is innocent. She’s a sultry one attempting to try on the innocent shoes for one day. It bored her and she moved on to her sweet musk, patchouli and rose ways. Well, she had fun on vacation…
Romantina is Lady Vengeance/Vengeance Extreme wearing a pretty white floral top. If you have any of the other floral Juliette Has a Gun perfumes, it’s difficult for me to recommend this one. It’s a nice fragrance but redundant for the line.
Notes listed include musk, orange blossom, jasmine, vanilla and patchouli. Launch date 2012.
Either you like the JHaG aesthetic or you don’t. Give Romantina a try if you liked the others in the line and like the idea of a white floral from them. Or if you like perfumes like L’Artisan Parfumeur Voleur de Roses, Chanel Chance EDP, “original” Prada EDP, Tom Ford White Patchouli, and/or By Kilian Sweet Redemption. Juliette Has a Gun has the motto “For Women Only”. I think their perfumes are unisex. But, I dislike words like “only”.
Romantina has above average projection and longevity.
Romantina comes in 2 sizes with prices ranging from $85-$110 at Beautyhabit. Samples are also available for purchase.
Victoria’s Final EauPINION – Lady Vengeance wearing a pretty white floral top. I like it but it is redundant for the line. I would recommend trying it if you don’t own other JHaG perfumes. If you own Lady Vengeance or even Citizen Queen, you already have this base covered.
