Juara Candlenut Body Creme Review

Juara Candlenut Body Cream

Juara Candlenut Body Creme is a moisturizing body cream without a greasy feel. This body cream contains Candlenut Oil which is known for it’s moisturizing and softening properties. It’s rich in linoleic and linolenic acid. It’s commonly used in Indonesian bath, body, and hair care products. And yes, this oil is even used in cooking. This body cream also contains Rice Bran Oil. This oil is rich in Vitamin E and essential acids. This oil is said to moisturize and improve skin’s elasticity.

My Experience: Candlenut Body Creme is a thick, rich body cream. It is easy to apply, meaning that you don’t have to rub it in, etc. It’s very smooth. This is definitely non-greasy. I feel like my skin “drinks” this up. I would usually complain about this. I associate “greasy” with “moisturizing”. You guys know I use oils to moisturize. I also moisturize my body twice a day. I’m an over moisturizer, this is my disclaimer to you. However, I have learned that greasy doesn’t mean moisturizing. After using Juara Candlenut Body Creme, my skin is left super soft and moisturized. I have a subtle sheen. This means my skin is healthy and happy. But, I’m not greasy, not even a little bit. I’m not leaving oil spots on my clothes or bed linens 🙂 My skin is moisturized all day. I really like this product for summer because it’s non-greasy. I don’t want a heavy feeling moisturizing in the summer. Indonesia is tropical. It has a humid climate. I can using a lotion like this in such a climate.

So, I like it. I don’t find it greasy at all. But, you guys know I use heavy-duty moisturizers. So, if you don’t use lotion ever, then maybe you’d find this greasy. I hope that makes sense.

The Fragrance: I have never sniffed actual candlenut oil. I’m very curious now. Especially after seeing it used in recipes. Juara Candlenut Body Creme smells warm and yes “tropical”. It reminds me of sweetened, creamy rice and toasted nuts, almost like a coconut. However, there is almost that “banana” note that you get from jasmine sometimes. So, yes, Juara Candlenut Body Creme is “tropical”. The fragrance isn’t exactly faint. I can tell that it’s there hours after application. Yes, you’d have to be very close to me to smell it, but it’s there. It won’t compete with your perfume but it could “enhance” it. This fragrance could  be nice layered under tropical florals, coconut tropical fragrances, vanilla fragrances, and milky fig fragrances.

Who’s this for? This is for the person that needs a rich moisturizer but hates the feel of lotions or creams. I also think this is a nice moisturizer for those in warmer, humid climates because it isn’t heavy, greasy, or sticky. But, that also makes it nice for winter! You should like this if you like tropical, creamy fragrances. Because this isn’t greasy, it could be used as a hand cream. (But, you’d have to dip your hands in the tub). This product left my skin feeling super soft, so if you want soft skin, then try this.

Who isn’t this for? Those that do not like body products with scents. I like the fragrance but you need to know it has a fragrance. The fragrance isn’t “loud” and this isn’t a perfumed body cream, but a fragrance is there. You won’t like this if you think greasy means moisturized 🙂 The price will put some people off. This product is in a “tub”. So, if you don’t like scooping creams out of jars and prefer tubes/pump bottles, then you won’t like this.

Juara Candlenut Body Creme retails for $35 for 6.75 oz. It’s available at drugstore.com and Birchbox.

  1. I need to try this! My skin is getting so dry since the weather is getting nastier. I hate the feel of heavy creams!
