Serendipity is a perfume in JoAnne Bassett’s More Life Collection, a line of all-natural parfums.
Serendipity opens with a hay-like rose and sliced cucumbers. With time I get a spicy neroli and mimosa that’s almost salty – French florals touched by sea. The dry-down is warm with vanilla and incense woods. Serendipity starts out bright and dries down to something more sultry or like “evening” wear.
Serendipity is one of those fragrances that needs some heat. I’m not talking about warm weather necessarily, but it needs to be on skin that “runs warmer” than mine. On a warm day on my skin, it blooms. I prefer wearing it on a warm day. *I’m sampling the parfum oil not the EDP.
Notes listed include Rose de Mai, tuberose, cassie, cardamom, tangerine, neroli, vanilla, balsam wood, frankincense, agarwood, and sandalwood. Launched 2012. PERFUMER – JoAnne Bassett
Give Serendipity a try if you like balsamic florals. Or if you like perfumes like Ayala Moriel Les Nuages de Joie Jaune, L’Occitane Eau d’Azur, Aftelier Honey Blossom and/or Roxana Illuminated Perfumes Gracing the Dawn . I perceive this to be unisex. It does smell natural so I think you need to be a fan of naturals to like this one.
Serendipity is a parfum so it wears closely to the skin. Being an all-natural perfume, it has below average longevity for a parfum.
The 1 oz EDP retails for $190 at JoAnne Bassett. There are parfums in handmade art bottles (pictured) and prices vary. Samples are also available for purchase.
Victoria’s Final EauPINION – French seaside floral – from day to night – like French Riviera in the 20’s. Like the rest of the JoAnne Bassett line, worth trying if you like naturals.

i am so biased; i LOVE JoAnne’s work. i have yet to try the More Life Collection, but there isn’t anything JoAnne has done i haven’t liked yet.
I hope you try it or a few from the line 🙂
There’s a tonka she’s using in a few of these from this collection that is awesome. It adds a richness even to the “lighter” and brighter blends.
That bottle is phenomenal! I would but it just for that although French seaside doesn’t sound too bad either.
The art bottles in this collection are stunning. There is one with like a scarab-ish finish that is stunning. This blue one is my second favorite bottle from the collection.
Oops I meant “buy”
Thank you Victoria for your wonderful review. You do understand my natural perfumes. I agree it does smell like a French seaside floral – from day to night – like French Riviera in the 20′s.
Thank you for sharing it with me 🙂
