Ineke Balmy Days & Sundays EDP Perfume Review

Ineke Balmy Days and Sundays EDP

The 2nd fragrance in the Alphabetical Series, INeKe Balmy Days & Sundays is a dewy, grassy, fresh floral. It is exactly what the name implies. It’s like a Sunday brunch of perfumes.

I know I’m sampling Balmy Days & Sundays at the wrong time of the year. During my first time of wear, it was 30º and snowing. On a cold winter day, I really don’t want to smell like dewy grass and honeysuckle. I needed something warmer, not cooler. I’m trying it again in the summer…

And it’s summer, well, a pathetic Seattle summer. INeKe Balmy Days & Sundays is fresh. It opens up as a wet, dewy green explosion. It’s grassy. It smells like a cool, early summer morning. The grass isn’t cut. It’s alive, growing. It’s slightly “aquatic”. *I really wish a rubbery note was added to add that “summer vacation” water hose kind of feel*. In the summer, I pick up on the freesia and florals. It’s abstract. You know how Estee Lauder Beyond Paradise is a fantasy, tropical garden? Well, Balmy Days & Sundays is much in the same style EXCEPT it’s a fantasy Nana’s garden. All familiar but not. It’s too perfect to be any garden you’ve ever known. The dry-down is mossy but so clean. It’s like a laundromat version of moss.

Jane Birkin in the grass

I can see Balmy Days & Sundays being a very popular fragrance in the American market. It’s fresh, clean, naive, and floral. It’s very pretty and perfect. Too perfect for me. This is one that I’d like to smell on someone passing by.

Notes listed include: freesia, leafy greens, grass, honeysuckle, rose, mimosa, chypre, and musk.

Give INeKe Balmy Days & Sundays a try if you like clean, green florals. Or if you like scents like Annick Goutal Petite Cherie EDT, Estee Lauder Beyond Paradise, Bond No.9 Madison Square Park, Armani Acqua di Gioia, and/or Vera Wang Bouquet.

The 2.5 oz spray of Balmy Days & Sundays retails for $88 and is available at Ineke’s on-line boutique.

Victoria’s Final EauPINION – It really is a beautiful fragrance, but grassy florals and me, well, we don’t actually like each other. We’re friendly to one another but only for short sessions. I feel Balmy Days & Sundays needs some dirt stains or a “water hose” accord, not too literal but something to add an “odd” interest. It sounds silly, but Balmy Days & Sundays is just too pretty for me. But, it’s very well-done and I appreciate it. I can see this being a very nice fragrance for someone, but not me.
