Pomegranates are delicious. They’re beautiful and the fruit smells good. However, I’ve yet to find any fragrance with pomegranate as the main player that smells good on skin.
i Profumi di Firenze Melograno Selvatico opens with a green, bitter floralness that reminds me of lemon blossoms. There is a humid and aquatic, fresh-air element to Melograno Selvatico. On me, Melograno Selvatico wears as fresh citrus blossoms, very delicate blossoms. In the heart, I get a very faint pomegranate-like fruit juice and grapefruit peel with the florals. And if I concentrate on it for too long, I get something that reminds me of inflatable pool loungers. I liked it but then it lost me. And none of this really matters because it becomes a white musk thing at the dry down.
Notes listed include pomegranate blossom and spice. PERFUMER – Giovanni Di Massimo
Give Melograno Selvatico a try if you like light florals or perfume like Archipelago Pomegranate, Bvlgari Omnia Coral, Estee Lauder Pure White Linen, and/or Gucci Envy Me. Some may view Melograno Selvatico as a feminine fragrance because of the petals but it is fresh enough for anyone to wear.
Firenze Melograno is a light fragrance and it has average projection and below average longevity. It seems more fit for warmer climates.
Melograno Selvatico retails for $99 for 1.7 oz at Beautyhabit. Samples are available for purchase.
Victoria’s Final EauPINION – Inflatable pool loungers and citrus blossoms. Not for me. Pomegranate in perfume always smells like plastic to my nose.

Dearest Victoria
I suspect that the plastic effect is caused by the desire to ramp up a rather subtle scent in nature to perfume ready headiness.
It’s a shame as the fruit itself is delicious and the freshly squeezed juice, something of a craze in Turkey when The Dandy was there last year, is divine.

It is a shame. I kept looking for a pomegranate scent as somewhat of a “memory” fragrance. All of them, regardless of price, have smelled like plastic 🙁 So, now I have to settle for the real deal and I’m fine with that!
I’ve never tried the perfume. I should, because I like arid scents and I like Firenze’s Albicocca.
They have an extensive line! It’s difficult to get around to them. I love their lemon blossom one and the lilac one.
