Hermes Voyage d’Hermes EDT is a fresh unisex fragrance with aquatic, green, and woodsy notes. It’s like a “generic” version of a Hermès fragrance. I sniff it and throughout its wear, it reminds me of a montage of all of the lighter unisex Hermès fragrances.
At first I get a blast of citrus that is grapefruit in a pretty way. It reminds me of Hermès Eau de Pamplemousse Rose becuase it’s citrus but more on the feminine end of the spectrum. It has a bit of lemon too. I then get spice but in a very Un Jardin après la Mousson way: pepper, green cardamom, and ginger. It’s spicy but very fresh and aquatic. The aquatic aspect of the fragrance reminds me of all of the Jardin Collections. Hermès Voyage d’Hermes is not fruity, unlike Les Jardins. I also get tea. It’s wet and rainy, very mineral. This reminds me of Terre d’Hermes. The dry down is slightly woodsy, not as much so as Eau d’Orange Verte but not as soft as Eau de Gentiane Blanche. Once again, it reminds of the garden scents: Un Jardin en Méditerranée.
Voyage d’Hermes is very light wearing. It wears closely to the skin. It is soft and it reminds me of a sheer cotton t-shirt. It’s pleasant enough and it is a good everyday fragrance or “work” fragrance. And it’s nice for summer. It wears kind of like a fabric softener. It isn’t an exciting fragrance since it is light and it does remind me of many other Hermès fragrances that I own. I don’t like this one enough to put in my collection. I’m from the CK One generation, so these woodsy aquatic scents are very tame to me. I like them, but would I pay a Hermès price for one? No. This is a scent that I would wear if given to me or if it was on a hefty discount. I said I like it but I’d rather replace on of my Jardins when they run out then purchase Voyage d’Hermes.
No notes are listed publicly. I guess Hermès didn’t want us to know that this fragrance is a puzzle of all of their other fragrances.
Give this a try if you like light fragrance or “clean” fragrance or scents like Bvlgari Aqua Pour Homme, Acqua di Parma Arancia di Capri, CK One, and/or Burberry The Beat for Women. Or any of the other Hermes scents that I’ve mentioned in this review.
The 1.2 oz retails for $90 and the 3.3 oz for $125 at Hermès. (Fragrancenet.com does have it on discount, but not hefty enough for me…)

I am wondering, how many test-fragrances do you receive daily? 🙂 And do you use all of them? :-))

I sure buy too many samples…I’m guilty of that. I have to admit that I’m behind on reviewing! There aren’t enough days in the year to cover them all!

This sounds like one could save a lot of money by just buying Voyage and get a little taste of all the others 😉
Sadly I find this to be totally true, Voyage is nice but no great feat of the imagination. I think, like you, I will rather stick with the more interesting “full-sized” Hermes perfumes.

Maybe it isn’t such a bad price! You’re on to something 😉
Voyage is nice enough but I’m not rushing out for a bottle. I typically like Hermes perfumes, but this one isn’t for me.
I like Voyage d’Hermès. I made a mistake of buying a mini: it’s not a perfume to apply from the tiny splash flacon. So I really want a “hefty discount”ed real bottle! 😉

The bottle is really pretty. Yeah, I’d pick it up on a hefty discount 🙂
