For personal and sentimental reasons, I must try all of the figs. So far, this has ended up with me owning all of the figs…
HEELEY Figuier is one that I need to add to my collection of figs.
The opening of Figuier is not my favorite when it comes to fig scents. It’s like coconut and sweet pickles and dried anise. I get a whiff of Armenian cucumbers and then it all sort of mellows out into this dense, rich fig. I notice that this one smells its best from a distance…give it 12-16 inches. From a distance it’s a creamy, ripe fig with lime and Armenian cucumbers (which add an aquatic, ozonic element). Up close, I get more of the sweet, dry grass and nutty coconut oil. Despite the difficult-for-me opening, I fell in love with Figuier. It dries down to a fig and earthy but astringent cedar. It becomes a dense, overripe fig tree with long-wearing, sun-kissed musk. And I would say it’s perfect.
So, here’s my quick comparison to other popular figs. It’s not as “green” as Diptyque Philosykos, It’s more “fig” than L’Artisan Parfumeur Premier Figuier. And it’s not as dry and woodsy as Sonoma Scent Studio Fig Tree. HEELEY Figuier is the fig, the fig tree and the atmosphere surrounding it.
Notes listed include grass, rhubarb, fig leaf, white tea, melon, white cedar, dry grass and white musk.
Give Figuier a try if you are looking for a fig that isn’t sweet. Try it if you are like me and must try all of the figs. Or if you like perfumes such as Diptyque Philosykos, L’Artisan Parfumeur Premier FIguier Extreme, HEELEY Sel Marin, Pacifica Mediterranean Fig, Demeter Fig Leaf and/or L’Artisan Parfumeur Batucada. It’s a fig. It’s unisex.
I find that projection and longevity is above average. It’s the longest lasting fig that I’ve tried.
The 3.4 oz bottle retails for $180 at MiN NY. Samples are also available for purchase.
