Happy 6th Blogiversary to EauMG!

Madonna and cake

It’s EauMG’s 6th blogiversary (and it’s my birthday!). Things sure can change a lot in six years:

  • I moved across the country.
  • I’ve had more than a few career changes.
  • I went from having 0 pets to now having 2 dogs.
  • I went from having 0 nieces and nephews to having a total of 4 nephews and 1 niece.
  • I’ve become a happy and confident adult.

So much has changed but I’m still blogging. I would have never thought that I could commit to something like this for years, but I still enjoy talking about fragrance and having discussions with other fragrance lovers. Thank you for reading and thank you for making me feel like I’m not passionately rambling into cyberspace like some sort of crazy zealot.

I do feel like revisiting many of the perfumes that I have tried six years ago for a new fragrance feature. One of the problems with doing this for 6 years is that tastes do expand, etc. I’m not scared to admit to eating crow. Plus, I’d love to retry some of these things that I love but rarely wear because I was distracted by something shiny and new.

Thanks again for all of your support!

  1. Happy B-day – MANY more to come, w/ plenty of scented pages too! Thank you!! What is your birthday cake flavor? Any pics?? Yt must!! have chocolate ๐Ÿ™‚ and a rose perfume on the b-day – that`s it for my party!

    1. Thank ya!
I ended up eating matcha cheesecake with osmanthus cocktails ๐Ÿ™‚

Hubs bought me a few designer discontinued ‘fumes which was super nice of him to do being that he totally doesn’t get the “perfume thing”.

  2. Happy Anniversary, Victoria! I love your blog and hope to have it around for many more years.

  3. Congratulations! I so enjoy reading your blog and really appreciate your fragrant suggestions. I especially like reading your seasonal lists and gift guides. I also like hearing your opinions about the mainstream choices, because many of us don’t live near areas where we can sniff a lot of niche fragrances. Thanks again and here’s to many more!

    1. Thank you for reading!

I’m glad you like my mainstream discussions, that’s why I include them. I want to include something that most of us can talk about. Niche is great and all but I like to try it all. And in reality, I’m sort of boring. I wear a lot of Chanel, Estee Lauder and Guerlain!

  4. Congrats!!!! – love your blog, and perfume reviews (I read this blog every morning…), but I especially love your “Scent Diaries” (just because I miss Seattle so much…). Kudos to you and here’s to another 6 years.

    1. Awe, thank you for reading!

I’ve really got to get Scent Diaries started up again. I loved writing those. It makes me love this city ๐Ÿ˜‰

  5. MAZAL TOV! happy birthday! thank you for experiencing, and expanding and evolving and sharing it all with us!

and let’s face it, any blog entry with madonna eating cake on it is worth celebrating. *giggle*

so happy to have seen roughly half of this journey vicariously ๐Ÿ™‚

much light to you & yours <3

  6. Happy Blogiversary! Congrats on 6 years! I enjoy reading it and hope you continue to write.

  7. I really enjoy reading your blog about perfume and all things beauty. Thank you and happy birthday!

  8. Congratulations! The first thing I do when I get home is read the scent blogs, and you are on of my favorites!

    1. We’ll see ๐Ÿ˜‰

How many years have you’ve been blogging? I feel like you’ve been there since the beginning!

  9. Such a Wonderful letter to us! I really loved your comment: ” I was distracted by something shiny and new”. So true. So true. And also your willingness to “eat crow” is cool. Ditto. Many times I have found myself falling for a perfume that 6 years ago was ‘beyond me’. After saying I hate white florals for years….. my brand new bottle of Fleurs d’Oranger, is now, beloved.

Really nice. I want to read about your first favorites……

    1. And this is why I should just eat crow! When I first got started, I hated white florals! Now, I love them. And I ended up buying Fleurs d’Oranger, Un Lys, Carnal Flower. This is why I should go back. Plus, I’ve had some I’ve fallen out of love with too. Not that they are bad but I really burnt myself out of a few notes because they were all I wore early on.

      Thank you!

  10. Congratulations on your 6th anniversary! I really enjoy the way you cover a range of scents, and the great guides you put together. I think a regular feature returning to scents you reviewed very early on or that you haven’t been wearing much would be interesting.

Envious of your matcha cheesecake and osmanthus cocktails, but good to hear you celebrated you achievements.

Looking forward to reading for as long as you’re willing to keep writing.

    1. Thank you!

It’s so easy to forget what we have, especially with so many launches. Things get pushed back for newly hyped things.

  11. I’m a little late, but heartily wish you a very Happy Birthday and Congratulations on 6 Years of fabulous blogging!!!

Will look forward to when you return with your Scent Diaries again … yes, you must continue them.

    1. Thank you!

You know, I get real “all or none” with those. So I’ll miss a few days and get discouraged. So far, May is looking good. Better to start now than never, right?

  12. Oh crap…I’m SOOO late for the Osmanthus cocktails…HAPPY BLOGIVERSARY!!!!!!!!!!And a very belated HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!Hope you have a kickass year! And many more things to say here on EAUMG!Enjoyed your interview over at Olfactoria’s Travels! And you led me to DARK PURPLE-ocd’ness…xOx…Johanob

    1. Cocktails are just perfume that we can drink ๐Ÿ˜‰

I’ve got to thank B for “introducing” me to you. Hopefully I didn’t create a DARK PURPLE MONSTER! But, if I did, that isn’t a bad thing!

  13. I just wanted to stop by and wish you my congratulations on your anniversary!

Here’s to many more years!! ๐Ÿ™‚

  14. Somehow I missed this post! Happy belated birthday and blogiversary, Thanks for all the laughs!
