EauMG’s Valentine’s Day 2015 Gift Guide

Valentine's Day 2015

Next week is Valentine’s and this guide is a little later than I wanted it to be, but hey, like any of us celebrate Valentine’s Day, right? 😉 We don’t but it does combine so many things that I love such as roses, chocolate and champagne. My guide is all about treating yourself. The weather is cold and awful and everything is BLAH. So, treat yourself to some of life’s little luxuries:

Valentine lip products

For Irresistible Lips

French Girl Organics Rose Sugar Lip Polish – This is natural lip scrub with peppermint and rose. Retails for $14 at Beautyhabit. Oh, and I love rose so expect to see a lot of that in this guide.

Rosebud Perfume Co. Smith’s Mocha Rose Lip Balm – After your rose scrub, follow up with a chocolate and vanilla lip balm. This will make lips soft and smooth while prepping for them for bolder colors. Retails for $7 at Beautyhabit.

Isabel & Ruben Toledo for MAC Lipstick in Tenor Voice – I haven’t cared about a MAC limited edition makeup collection in a very long time but there’s something about this one that I’m drawn to, oh yeah, the packaging. This one was co-created by an artistic couple. The shade is a strawberry red. The packaging is great. Retails for $17.50 at Nordstrom.

Valentine's Day body products

For Smooth Skin

Olivine Atelier Love + Roses Beauty Mist – This is a lightweight complexion mist that smells like roses. It’ll leave the skin looking dewy and smelling like petals. The 2 oz spray retails for $14 at Beautyhabit. A larger size is also available.

Aromatherapy Associates Renewing Rose Massage and Body Oil – It’s a natural blend of nourishing oils scented with rose, sandalwood and citrus notes. Retails for $66 at Beautyhabit.

Avon Bubble Delight Bubble Bath in Soft Pink – I’m all about Avon’s classic bubble bath in this classic soapy floral scent. So many bubbles. Retails for about $8 at Avon.

Valentine's Day Perfumes

Smell Wonderful

aroma M Camellia Natural Perfume Oil – Camellia is a lovely marriage of white florals and rose. It’s lovely. Retails for $150 at Luckyscent. Full review here.

Elizabeth & James Nirvana Black Gift Set – This creamy vanilla and sandalwood didn’t win me over but it works for a lot of people. I do think it’s a great sandalwood for the money. This set comes with an 1 oz perfume, body lotion and a rollerball all for $75 at Sephora. Full review here.

Arquiste Anima Dulcis EDP – I had to somehow manage to get a chocolate thing in this guide. And I did. Here’s a chocolate perfume that retails for $165 at Beautyhabit. Full review here.

L’Occitane Roses et Reines EDT – I told you that I’m rose lover so I can’t help how rose-heavy this guide is. This is a sheer fruity and delicate rose. Retails for $50 at L’Occitane.

Valentine's Day candles

Ambiance

Natori Incense Set – One of these days I’m going to buy this set. It contains a dragon box and dragon incense holder plus black amber and jasmine scented incense. I want to burn this and lounge around in silk caftans and drink champagne cocktails. Retails for $85 at Natori.

Voluspa Aqua de Senteur Room & Body Mist in Crisp Champagne – This is a sugared champagne scent for the home, sheets and even yourself. Retails for $19 at Beauty.com.

Diptyque Rosafolia Candle – This new candle from Diptqye is a fresh, green rose soliflore. Retails for $65 at Nordstrom.

DS & Durga Candle in Portable Fireplace – The name says it all. It’s a smoky, woodsy fragrance that’s like having a fireplace. How romantic, right? Retails for $65 at Beautyhabit.

So, do any of these stand out to you? I’ll take all the rose stuff and the Natori incense 🙂

  1. The Aroma M sounds pretty amazing. Reading this post made me think of a perfume I think you’d like, Mor Marshmallow it’s gorgeous, smells like rose turkish delight.

    1. I’m really a huge fan of this aroma M naturals line.

Oh, I have that! I bought it on a discount thinking if I didn’t like that I give it away. It’s so good! It’s a sugary rose, yep, like a Turkish delight 🙂

  2. I want it all!!! I am especially excited by the Smith’s Co. Mocha Rose Lip Balm. Their strawberry balm has been my favorite for years but the mocha sounds divine.

  3. Avon’s Skin So Soft! I used to love that stuff. The last time I thought about it was sometime back in 2009 when I bought up all the Yankee Candle “bamboo” scented plug-ins at a local Kohls. Seriously, they had like 30 on the shelf and I bought them ALL. Reason being I thought they smelled eerily similar to how I recall SSS smelled when I was young and taking bubble baths in my grandmother’s enormous bathroom out in the country.

Also, caftans have been on my mind lately like you wouldn’t believe, so I am totally sold on that Natori incense set 😉

    1. That scent reminds me so much of childhood too! My grandmas always had it, same with the bubble bath. There’s actually an Illuminum perfume that reminds me very much of Avon SSS. I’m sure if I reviewed it and said they wouldn’t be too happy but I think SSS smells awesome. If I knew there were home fragrances like it, I would have bought them up too 🙂

I’m in the cult of caftans.

  4. That Camellia Natural Perfume Oil sounds fantastic. I also need new lip balm, having recently run out, ooh, and a good lip scrub, and I could use some new candles too… this is a great list!

    1. That entire range is so good.

French Girl Organics isn’t actually French. They’re in Seattle 🙂

I always want candles. I swear I have some sort of problem. I’m really tempted by the new D.S. & Durga ones.
