EauMG’s Most Worn Perfumes Spring 2013

Here’s the perfumes that I found myself reaching for the most during the spring of 2013. I admit that I’m rather traditional when it comes to spring perfumes. I want to smell like flowers. If you talked to me a few years ago, I didn’t even wear florals. Now they’re sort of my “thing”.

Guerlain Champs-Elysees EDT

12. Guerlain Champs-Elysées EDT – A neon mimosa. Love this stuff. Full Review. Retails for $74 at Nordstrom.

11. CdG Synthetic Series Tar – Because it smells awesome and I it needs to come back and live with me forever. Sorry folks, it’s discontinued.

10. Sweet Anthem Joan Solid Perfume – I need a full-size of this. It’s a warm, honeyed floral that reminds me of madrone’s in bloom. I think I like it so much because it reminds me of summer and I wanted that on some of these cooler days. Full Review. Solid perfume retails for $8.50 at Sweet Anthem.

9. LUSH Tuca Tuca EDP – It’s like violets and motor oil. Does well on a cool, spring day. Retails for $33 at LUSH.

Oscar de la Renta Esprit d'Oscar

8.  Oscar Esprit d’Oscar EDP – It’s like an old-fashioned but new perfume. It’s a beautiful abstract powdery floral. Full Review. You can find it for under $30 at Fragrancenet.

7. Lolita Lempicka Si Lolita EDP – It’s pretty much just pink pepper and heliotrope which smells great on cool spring days. Full Review. You can also find it for under $30 at Fragrancenet.

6. Chanel Cristalle EDP – It’s no surprise that this one made the list. I wear it every spring/summer. Full Review. Retails for $85 at Nordstrom.

5. Dior J’Adore EDP – I have no clue why I have been wearing this one. I’ve had in my collection for like 10 years and rarely wear it. I guess I’ve been wanting to smell like clean flowers. Retails for $90 at Sephora.

Caron Aimez-Moi

4. Caron Aimez – Moi EDT – I wear this every spring. It’s an anise-violet and one of my favorite perfumes ever. Retails for $110 at Nordstrom.

3. Van Cleef & Arpels Feerie EDP – I love purple flowers and the spring. And this is a gorgeous violet in what my husband calls the “Tinkerbell” bottle. It’s available at Fragrancenet for like $50.

2. CB I Hate Perfume At the Beach 1966 perfume oil – This is oysters, orange blossoms and driftwood. I love it. And I need to buy a bottle because I’m completely out. Retails for $100 at CB I Hate Perfume.

1. Serge Lutens Bas de Soie EDP – A cool, icy iris that smells awesome on me. Full Review. Retails for $120 at Beautyhabit.

What did you wear the most during spring of 2013?

  1. If you like Tar you could try Diptyque’s John Galliano roomspray…It really reminded me of either tar, garage, skai or a mix of all three… it’s been a while since I’ve smelled the Synthetics though.

    1. I haven’t thought about that product in ages. I think Barneys still carries it, I should look for it 🙂 Thanks.

  2. So jealous of your 10 year old bottle of J’Adore!! I used up mine before I realized it was reformulated and the new one…smells like floozy’s drinking belini’s at a funeral…Nothing like the gorgeous creature it once was. Enjoy it for me!

    1. Who would have ever thought we’d have to stock up on such an item? I’m so surprised that one of their best sellers got the “floozy drinking bellinis at a funeral” treatment! 😉 And what surprises me even more that it is still a best seller for them. I suppose a few of us have been duped when buying another bottle.

      I will!

  3. Dearest Victoria
    Hurrah, hurrah, hurrah!!
    What a simply de-lovely list.
The Dandy adores violets too and so I’m beside myself to see them featuring so magnificently.
Aimez Moi and Feerie fought it out with Jolie Madame’s sumptuous leather violet accord for my attention this year.
Great to see Cristalle and the much overlooked Champs Elysee on the list… I may even give J’Adore another squirt at your suggestion.
    Yours ever

    1. Now if I had a bottle of Jolie Madame, then maybe it’d make the list 😉 It’s gorgeous stuff.

J’Adore is not what she used to be but she’s still a dazzling clean floral (the problem is that she is now too sterile, too clean). There’s an elixir, I think. It’s worth trying and I consider it unisex because it’s clean.

  4. I wore a lot of leather this spring (which was unusually cold and wet here in SW Virginia). Of course, because it is me, they were FLORAL leathers.
Jolie Madame, in the parfum, because I caaaaaaan. Don’t hate me.
    Cuir de Lancome.
    Amouage Memoir Woman.

And my violets, of course, because spring calls for violets. Penhaligon’s Violetta. (I sold my Aimez-Moi because I wasn’t getting the good out of it, but it’s lovely.)

And my greenies, like Chanel No. 19, and my new Silences edp Sublime, and Chamade. It cannot be spring without Chamade.

And Le Temps d’une Fete, because because. LTdF, I can’t quit you.

    1. So, you’re saying that you spent the entire spring, even it was unusually cold and damp, smelling amazing. So many wonderful ones were in your rotation. And so many on my purchase/rebuy list.

My bottle of Chamade leaked/broke in the move. I have a little hat box that smells like spring now…
