Weekly Cheap Secret:
I picked up 2 shades of e.l.f. Studio Minty Lip Glosses, named after 2 cities that call home: Seattle and Nashville. Yep, I bought these just because I like the names.
1. Seattle – The shade, Seattle, is sheer and super sparkling. These is a clear base with shimmers in white, pink, gold, silver, green, and blue. This will be one of those colors that I’ll wear on the bottom lip for a plumping effect. It doesn’t seem like a “Seattle” shade, way too glitzy. This one should be the Nashville. It’s as glittery as one of Porter Wagoner’s suits!
2. Nashville – I didn’t expect to love this color so much! Nashville is nude beige shimmer with just enough peach in it. This is way less shimmery than Seattle. The shimmers are pink and gold. This shade is a winner. It’s a perfect, sheer nude lip gloss for my complexion. This is more of the Seattle shade, very natural.
The formula: OK, so these babies are minty. Mint is my favorite scent for any lip product. The mint in this is chewing gum like. It’s a perfect balance of spearmint and peppermint. It tingles. I try not to use these glosses too frequently. Mint can irritate the lips with too much use, or at least my lips are sensitive to it. The colors are very, very sheer. That’s what I expect from a lip gloss. I’m a lipstick gal myself. I don’t go to lip gloss for color. The formula is a bit thin and needs to be reapplied, but I have this issue with all lip glosses!
The packaging: The packaging is simple. What do you expect for $3? However, the matte black top comes off all the time, so I glued it. It’s annoying because both glosses had this problem and it’s mentioned in all of the reviews that I’ve read. The packaging definitely could be improved here, even at the $3 mark.
Would I buy again? Maybe. I like the formula. But, I’m not much of a lip gloss person. I only need a few in my life. If you like minty, sheer glosses then this e.l.f. gloss is for you! However, my favorite drugstore lip gloss is still Revlon Super Lustrous Lipgloss.
e.l.f. Studio Minty Lip Glosses retail for $3 and are available at e.l.f.

I have Chicago. These glosses are really sheer. I don’t mind that. I don’t think I’ll buy the other colors, because I don’t think they’ll look different enough on the lips.
I do like Seattle. I like the glitter!
I know what you mean. If I bought another, it would be one of the reddish ones because it may be a tad bit different than what I have.
These look really pretty.
I live in Toms River NJ and I cannot find
seattle peppermint lip gloss in my area..I first purchased it in the dollar store..but they do not have it any longer…Please advise…thank you for your time.
Hi!
It looks like elf discontinued these which is a shame because they were good. I would keep hunting discounters and dollar stores. Sometimes the discontinued stuff which is still sealed and new will show up there.
