I wouldn’t consider myself a fan of citrus perfumes. I rarely ever want to smell like citrus, there are a few exceptions, but as a whole, I don’t like them. And within the citrus genre, I have some notes that I really don’t like. Grapefruit is one of those. They are so difficult for me to wear. They are too sulfuric and well, “cat pee” for me. My skin hates grapefruit. But, there is an exception, my skin likes DSH Perfumes Pamplemousse.
Pamplemousse is a bitter citrus. Like many citrus perfumes, it opens with brightness and effervescence. It’s fresh, simple and realistic. It smells like grapefruit and lemon juice and then it dries down to a faint green tea. The overall feel is cheerful.
Contains notes of bergamot, green mandarin, green tea, neroli, lemon, pink grapefruit, pomelo, white grapefruit and Australian sandalwood.
Give Pamplemousse a try if you are looking for a bright citrus. Or if you like perfumes like Kiehl’s Nashi Blossom & Pink Grapefruit, Demeter Grapefruit Tea, B&BW Pink Grapefruit and/or The Body Shop Zestini. Pamplemousse is unisex. And it’s obviously a great choice for warm weather wear.
Like 90% of citrus perfumes, projection and longevity are below average. Also, it’s 98% botanical.
The 1 oz EDP retails for $70 at DSH Perfumes. Other sizes and samples are also available for purchase.
Victoria’s Final EauPINION – Effervescent bright grapefruit and green tea. It’s good and it doesn’t “turn” on me.
