DSH Perfumes created a perfume collection for the Denver Art Museum for their showing of the Yves Saint Laurent Retrospective Exhibit. I’ve said it before and I’m going to say it again. This collection of perfume is amazing and I urge you to try it.
Ma Plus Belle Histoire d’Amour chronicles YSL’s “late” years (1994-2002). The name “Ma Plus Belle Histoire d’Amour” comes from the song that the beautiful Catherine Deneuve sung at YSL’s last show.
Ma Plus Belle HdA opens with a fresh ozonic floral that is a lovely hommage to the clean, watery florals of the 1990’s. I said hommage. DSH takes it a step further. I get that overripe, almost vulgar aroma of linden blossoms in summer heat. It’s cooled by a citrus/lemon rose and icy aldehydes. It’s so fresh! The scent is “clean” but it covers up some filth…the natural naughtiness of humid summer florals. Ma Plus Histoire d’Amour turns into a humid, honeyed, creamy floral over the perfect amount of civet and musk.
Notes listed include bergamot, ozone, lemon, Bulgarian rose, dossinia orchid, French linden blossom, honeysuckle, lily of the valley, jasmine sambac, wisteria, ylang ylang, Australian sandalwood, civet, East Indian patchouli, musk and vanilla. Launched 2012.
Give DSH Perfumes Ma Plus Belle HdA a try if you like honeyed florals. Or if you like perfumes like Tommi Sooni Passerelle, Annick Goutal Le Chevrefeuille, Diptyque Olene, L’Artisan Parfumeur La Chasse Aux Papillons and/or TokyoMilk Waltz. If you are looking for a pretty linden, try this.
Projection and longevity are average.
The 1 oz EDP retails for $125 at DSH Perfumes. Other sizes and samples are available for purchase.
Victoria’s Final EauPINION – Fresh, honeyed floral of linden blossoms, wisteria and honeysuckle. It’s gorgeous…but in a really relaxed way.
