DSH Perfume Vers la Violette EDP Perfume Review – Passport to Paris Collection

DSH Perfumes Vers la Violette

Purple Flowers Week 2014

DSH Perfumes Passport to Paris is a collection of perfumes inspired by Belle Epoque Paris for the Denver Art Museum. Vers la Violette is an hommage to one of the most popular notes in perfumery at the time, violet.

Vers la Violette opens a mushroom-y violet. Vers la Violette has a sheerness. It’s like a breeze of living violets – petals and stems. It isn’t powdery, sweet or candied. It’s a flirty, fresh and breathing. This is a “green” violet. Vers la Violette wears as a soft green, spring floral. In the heart there is a hint to suede and vintage dusting powder. To my surprise, the dry-down is rather animalic. It’s civet and oakmoss. I actually thought my nose was wrong while wearing this and went to see which perfume I sprayed. Yes, it was Vers la Violette. And this flirty violet dries down to something animalic and fierce.

Billie Burke

Notes include bergamot, galbanum, lemon, violet, Bulgarian rose, orange flower, cyclamen, civet, sandalwood, suede and oakmoss. Launched 2013.

Give Vers la Violette a try if you are looking for a “green” violet. Or if you like perfumes like L’Artisan Parfumeur Violette Verte, Balenciaga L’Essence, Penhaligon’s Violetta, Ulrich Lang Lightscape and/or Annick Goutal La Violette. This perfume is unisex.

Vers la Violette has average projection and longevity.

Vers la Violette comes in a few sizes. The 10 ml spray retails for $63 at DSH Perfumes. Samples are also available for purchase.

Victoria’s Final EauPINIONA living, breathing violet with a skanky civet base. This is a much welcomed perfume to the Club of Violets!
