Spolier alert – Detaille Fleur is not a floral. It’s a citrus eau de cologne.
Fleur opens with a tart citrus with a subtle hint of black licorice. And then it’s a realistic lemon accented by cooling green herbs like geranium and mint. It dries down to a “fresh” citrus-patchouli.
Fleur is not a groundbreaking fragrance but this doesn’t irritate me. Detaille is a heritage brand of fragrances and something like Fleur works with this particular brand. It smells “authentic”. It’s a classic eau de cologne, something one would expect from a heritage brand.
Notes listed include bergamot, lemon, petit grain, lavender, mint, geranium, patchouli and woods.
Give Fleur a try if you are looking for a fresh eau de cologne. Or if you like perfumes like Caron Eau de Reglisse, Annick Goutal Eau d’Hadrien, Jo Malone London Verbanas of Provence, Les Couvet des Minimes Eau des Minimes Cologne and/or Diptyque L’eau des Hesperides. Fleur is unisex. Fellows, don’t let the rose on the box scare you.
Being a citrus eau de cologne, longevity and projection are below average. I get 1-3 hours of wear from this.
The 3.4 oz retails for 69€ at Detaille.
Victoria’s Final EauPINION – A “cool” lemon/citrus eau de cologne. Ground-breaking? No. But, it makes sense in this heritage brand’s line-up. And it does smell good, especially on hot days.
