I love tinted lip balms because they are so easy. Isn’t this the reason that everyone loves them? They provide a little lip color plus they are a treatment. These are awesome for my “natural” makeup days. Crazy Rumors HibisKiss Lip Color comes in 6 sheer shades and I am reviewing Tropical, but I’d love to get my hands on the others.
I saw Crazy Rumors HibisKiss Lip Color in Tropical on a stylish gal on mass transit. She had a great complexion, super pale with dark hair, cool tones. This product looked stunning and very natural. This was how I was introduced to this line. I am now a mega fan of the Crazy Rumors line and I need to spread the word.
The Shade: This is a lovely sheer, natural mineral shade, but very, very, very sheer on me. Since I usually wear a bold lippie, I find that I need a few coats of this shade to feel alive. The top swatch is of one swipe, the bottom swatch is of three. I usually do three. Tropical is a pearly warm rose shade. It has become one of my favorite shades for “Sunday brunch” looks as you can see below. Everyone needs a good neutral lippie in their collection.
The Fragrance and formula: This fragrance is amazing. It is straight up hibiscus tea or Agua de Flor de Jamaica beverage. It is fruity sweet and transports me to my favorite taqueria. It’s fruity like cranberry, sweet and tart. It’s hibiscus tea! Love it. The formula is smooth and feels good. It moisturizes and does what a lip balm should do. It doesn’t feel waxy or oily. It’s exactly what I like in lip balm. It’s a vegan formula with natural oils and “butt-ahs”.
This lip color comes in a slim tube like the old school Burt’s Bees Lip Tints. It’s slim and doesn’t take up much space in the makeup bag.
