I like the fragrance Costamor Tabacca but I hate saying the name aloud. I feel like some backwoods redneck requesting some chew, “Hand me my Tabacca”. I just can’t say it without shuddering.
Tabacca opens with a honeyed, spiced chamomile with the darkest brewed black tea (slightly tannic). With time, Tabacco grows sweeter on me, more honeyed and with more powder with traces of steaming chai in the background. It’s a honeyed, warm tobacco amber. The dry-down is a spiced, boozy amber with dry woods.
Tabacca reminds me of Bois 1920 Sushi Imperiale with By Kilian Back to Black. In fact, if you like Back to Black but don’t like the price, I urge you to give this one a try. I think that you *could* be just as happy with this one ($75 vs. $235). Out of the Costamor line, Tabacca is my absolute favorite. It’s the sort of cozy sweet thing that I like wearing on damp winter days. On a side note, when I do side by side testing, I actually prefer Costamor over the By Kilian on my skin.
Notes listed include aromatic spices, apple peel, jasmine, rose tea, raw tobacco leaves, dried tobacco leaves, rare woods and amber.
Give Tabacca a try if you are looking for a tobacco fragrance. Or if you like perfumes like By Kilian Back to Black, Capsule Parfums Jaunt, Providence Perfumes Cocoa Tuberose, Tom Ford Tobacco Vanille and/or Patch NYC Pipe. Tabacca is unisex and a nice choice for cooler weather.
I find projection and longevity to be above average.
The 1.7 oz bottle retails for $75 at Luckyscent. I think it’s a great value. Samples are also available for purchase.
Victoria’s Final EauPINION – Sweet amber tobacco. It’s a gourmand leaning tobacco but without tons of vanilla. I think it’s an awesome scent and I really think it’s awesome that retails for under $100!

Read your review on Costamor Tabacca. Do you find it unisex? Thx and regards, CR, Tampa FL
Completely unisex. I would guess that some would say that this leans more masculine than feminine.
I love Costamor Tabacca! Someone on Reddit recommended it to me when I was looking for something similar to Back to Black but less costly. It fits the bill nicely!
I agree.
Actually I prefer Tabacca over Back to Black on “blind sniff tests”. It’s less powdery than Black to Back on my skin. And of course, I think it’s a great value.
My favorite of the line, although I do like Sugarwood when I’m in the mood for something sweet. This is one of my favorite Tabacco ‘fumes. It reminds me of the tobacco leaf drying sheds in the south. Nothing like the smoke. Sweet, lush, earthy. Yes, boozy does it. It just seems so full and organic. I like this over Back to Black also. And the staying power is fabulous. All this for such a reasonable price. I can’t ask for more here. I’ll even live with the name. I try to think of it sounding ‘Costa Rican.”
I’m so happy that you brought up the tobacco drying sheds because that is exactly what I get from it too. However, I thought that people wouldn’t “get” that association at all. The elementary school that I went to was downwind of a such a shed, a rather large commercial one. Oh, how I love that smell!
OK, if I think of a Spanish-speaking soap opera star saying it, I’ll put up with it 🙂
I like Sugarwood too. I don’t own a bottle but I do recommend it to those that like sweet fumes. Plus, the price is cheaper than lots of stuff that one could get at Sephora (and IMO, it’s better).
