If you’re the type of person that likes vetiver but doesn’t like vetivers that “get all up in yo face”, then you need to check out this little jewel of a vetiver – Chantecaille Vetyver.
Vetyver opens with a rather nice grapefruit with peppery spice. It’s very refreshing especially on a warm day. Vetyver’s heart is a clean vetiver with enough bergamot and smoke to remind me of Earl Grey tea. They dry-down is a soft, smoky vetiver. The overall feel of Vetyver is rather modern. I could see how someone that really likes Hermès fragrances enjoying Vetyver.
Notes listed include citron, pepper, nutmeg, bergamot, and vetiver. Launch date 2010. PERFUMER – Pierre Negrin
Give Vetyver a try if you like vetiver! Or if you like perfumes like Annick Goutal Vetiver, Hermes Vetiver Tonka, Diptyque Vetyverio, Dolce & Gabbana Light Blue for Her and/or The 7 Virtues Vetiver of Haiti. Chantecaille Vetyver has a sheerness. It’s not an aggressive vetiver; thus, it’s easily unisex.
Vetyver has average projection and longevity. I really recommend this one for wear in the summer or in warm climates.
The 2.5 oz spray retails for $175 at Nordstrom, Beautyhabit and Harrods (UK). A rollerball is available for $68, but I feel this one is better sprayed.
Victoria’s Final EauPINION – A very well-done sunny citrus vetiver. If you are a fan of vetiver, this is one worth checking out. I wouldn’t call myself a vetiver fan but I rather enjoy wearing this one.
