CeraVe Moisturizing Cream Review

CeraVe Moisturizing Cream

Weekly Cheap Secret:

This is one of my HG skincare products. And it’s cheap! CeraVe Moisturizing Cream is a product that I will continue to buy. It’s a simple moisturizing cream that I use on my face and body. I bought it back in August ’10 after I Am Nymphette suggested that I try it since our skin types are similar. She convinced me not to judge a tub of cheap-o moisturizer by its fugly packaging. Don’t you just love the power of beauty blogs? 😉

My experience – It’s my favorite moisturizer, so obviously, I’ve had a positive experience. I use it on my face and on my body. This ceramide rich cream moisturizes without feeling greasy. My face and body is left smooth, soft, and almost “buffed” in feel. The moisturizer absorbs quickly. I love it so much that I try to get everyone hooked on it. I’ve got all kinds of people using this no matter their gender or age.

The formula – The cream is white, no frills. This cream is completely unscented making it an ideal body moisturizer for fragrance addicts like myself. There is no fragrance to compete with the many perfumes that I choose to wear.

Who may like this moisturizer? – Those with sensitive normal and normal-to-dry skin on the face and body. This cream is gentle and simple with skin friendly ingredients. If you don’t want to spend too much on a basic moisturizing cream, try this. Who knows? Maybe you’ll fall in love with it like I did. If you are looking for an unscented cream, try this.

Who may not like this moisturizer? – The cream may feel too heavy for some skin types, such as oily. Oily skins, there is a lotion option for you! I have noticed that when my skin is more normal-to-oily that this cream feels filmy or should I say “I feel the protective barrier”. I will most likely switch the lotion this summer because of that. But, for me, I’m using it on my face at night and this doesn’t bother me.

The packaging of this product is ginormous. It doesn’t travel easy and you have to dip your fingers in the tub. I bought a smaller tub and scooped product in that. That little tub is what I use on my face at night. I use the original CeraVe tub as my body moisturizer. Of course after doing all of this, CeraVe now sells a double pack of 2 oz. tubes of the cream. It isn’t as cost effective as the tub but the packaging is so much easier to use, especially if you want to use this as a facial moisturizer.

A 16 oz. tub (told you it was huge) retails for under $15 and is available at drugstore.com, Dermstore, and DERMAdoctor.

  1. I bought this over the weekend and have used it for 3 nights on my face and I like it alot. It goes on thick and then blends easily and absorbs quickly. No greasy feel and yes the 16oz tub will last me forever, and the price 12.97 @ WALMART was perfect.

    1. I absolutely love this stuff. It’s perfect for my skin type. And the price is awesome proving you don’t have to spend a ton on something that does what it claims to do.
It will last forever 🙂 I went and bought empty travel jars so I could actually travel with this. 16 oz giant tub isn’t exactly the easiest to fly with.
