Cartier has Les Heures de Parfum Collection. It’s a collection of more “exclusive” perfumes (AKA in fewer doors). I’ve tried quite a few of them and I’m actually surprised by how many of them that I like. For example, I like L’Heure Folle, a fruity (sans florals) fragrance.
L’Heure Folle is sulfuric with grapefruit and currants. The opening is like freshly squeezed lemon juice mixed with grenadine (sugary pomegranate). And this may sound boring to you, but it isn’t to me. This is a fruity scent that manages to have depth. There’s a cool greenness to this scent that really does smell like boxwood hedges and an ivy trellis. The addition of sulfuric fruitiness from grapefruit and black currant keeps this fragrance from smelling like mall chain store and instead makes it smell realistic, like actually being outside. The scent wears linear. I never really notice a dry-down. It’s a fragrance that eventually fades away.
This perfume reminds me of a cool, early summer day. The berries are unripe. The air is humid, a fog has lifted. The air is cool and green. I imagine iron gates and concrete fountains.
Notes listed include red currant, pink pepper, grenadine, blueberry, black currant, ivy, violet, boxwood, shiso and aldehydes. Launched in 2009. PERFUMER – Mathilde Laurent
Give L’Heure Folle a try if you like green-fruity scents. Or if you like perfumes like CREED Silver Mountain Water, The Vagabond Prince Enchanted Forest, Olympic Orchids Blackbird, i Profumi di Firenze Melograno Selvatico and/or Guerlain Aqua Allegoria Grosellina.
Projection and longevity are above average for an EDT. I think it wears more like an EDP.
The 2.5 oz bottle retails for $285 at Saks Yep, the price is more “exclusive” as well.
Victoria’s Final EauPINION – Unripe berries, iron gates and perfectly manicured hedges. I enjoy this one much more than I anticipated.
