Mainstream Monday: Sniffing A Popular Fragrance
Bvlgari Eau Parfumee au Thé Blanc or White Tea is a light-wearing clean synthetic musk fragrance. Bvlgari Thé Blanc is an unadulterated perfume. It is clean, fresh white musk with crisp, citrusy white tea.
Bvlgari Thé Blanc is crisp and it comes across as very synthetic. I don’t mean synthetic as an insult. I mean that it is one of those “modern” fragrances that’s so clean and crisp. There is no dirtiness to it. It’s a unisex fragrance and it lacks all florals. I’ve always found this fragrance very difficult to describe. You know what I’m talking about if you’ve sniffed it before. It’s just synthetic, clean, and crystal clear. At first it is very crisp and cool but bitter spicy pepper. It’s the laboratory artemisia AKA wormwood. This gives a spicy/bitter, minty character to this crisp citrus white tea fragrance. Bvlgari Thé Blanc is not earthy at all not is it very “white tea” to me. This fragrance wears like a “white tea musk”. It has clean musk character to it that sticks to the skin. It smells clean and laundered. The fragrance of Thé Blanc sticks to the skin like a lightly scented body lotion. It wears softly and closely. It’s soapy and genderless in my opinion.
I like Thé Blanc but it isn’t very me. It’s clean and fresh and very light-wearing. This is something I’d wear if I had around (I’ve used samples) or if I got it at discount but I wouldn’t pay full price for it. It reminds me of other clean white musk scents on the market such as CK One or Reminiscence Paris Eau de Rem. These types of fragrances aren’t bad for summer wear or “anti-perfume” days. Bvlgari White Tea has that clean “urban” unisex musk vibe. For a clean fragrance, Thé Blanc is good, for a white tea fragrance it’s <bleh>. It is very light-wearing and I can smell it on me for only about 2 hours and that’s with a generous amount of spraying. Other Bvlgari scents wear much longer on me. Many complain that they can’t smell Thé Blanc at all! I do know people that are “immune” to Bvlgari White Tea.
Notes listed include artemesia leaves, white tea, ambrette seeds, white pepper, woody amber, and musk.
Give Bvlgari Eau Parfumee au The Blanc a try if you like clean, fresh white musk scents such as CK One EDT, Reminiscence Paris Eau de Rem EDT, Fresh Citron de Vigne EDP, Montale Musk to Musk EDP, Profumi di Pantelleria Aire EDP, and/or Maison Francis Kurkdijian Aqua Universalis EDT.
An 1.33 oz bottle retails for $60. It is available at Sephora and Beauty.com. Check out Fragrancenet.com. Sometimes they have Bvlgari White Tea on a hefty discount; a discount so generous that I’m tempted to buy a full-size bottle 🙂

I had a boyfriend who wore this and I always liked it on him, I never liked it on me.
I’m one of those people that don’t smell it! It must be the musk.

When this was first launched, I couldn’t smell it all!
I’m also anosmic to this one…can’t smell a thing. Weird, those musks. I love the “idea” of a white tea perfume though 🙂
I still haven’t found a white tea fragrance to love.
Musks are so unusual. I find them so unusual because I’ll go through a phase where I can’t smell a fragrance after sampling it for weeks then BAM, I’ll pick up on the musk. That’s my experience with the Tom Ford White Musk Collection.
I can smell this 🙂 I wear it in the summer when I don’t want anything heavy. I do use many sprays but I do that most of the time anyways!
LOL!
I can’t smell this one either 🙁
This is one of my favorites for the summer.
