Boadicea the Victorious Intense EDP Perfume Review

Boadicea the Victorious Intense EDP Perfume

Boadicea the Victorious is an extensive line that verges on overwhelming, but I have liked the very few that I’ve tried. Intense is described  as “creating the impression of a scented Mediterranean garden at night.” Now here’s my impression…

Intense opens with a strange but pleasant blend of licorice, honey, and fruity gumdrops. It’s like being in an old-fashioned candy store. Gummy fruits and sugar and sugar. On my skin, the fruity gumdrops intensify. I still smell like a candy shop but this time it isn’t the one that Charlie visited in Willy Wonka. I smell like a distant market filled with fruity, powdery Turkish delights in lemon and rose flavors. Powdered sugar tickles my nose. I taste the sweetness. The heart of lemon and rose Turkish delights wears on me for many hours. You could argue that honey is in there. It is but it just wears as a thick sugary simple syrup on me. After several hours of wear, I finally get a realistic, animalic honey mixed with traces of white florals.

Turkish Delight

Notes listed include vanilla, citrus, honey, rose, white lily, tuberose, and jasmine.

Give Intense a try if you like honey scents or Turkish delight inspired perfumes. Or if you like perfumes like Jo Malone London Rose Water & Vanilla, By Kilian Back to Black, L’Artisan Parfumeur Traversee du Bosphore, and/or Montale Sweet Or*ental Dream.

Intense has average projection and above average longevity.

The 1.7 oz EDP retails for $175 at Luckyscent.

Victoria’s Final EauPINIONLemon and rose Turkish delights with traces of white florals. It seems that many people want to smell like a Turkish Delight. I prefer eating them.

  1. It’s a pretty bottle, no? Every time I come to visit, i realize, I don’t read your blog enough, Victoria… Shame on me! 😥

    1. I think it’s pretty and in person, the bottle has a hefty, expensive feel.

No shame on you! There are so many blogs I love that I don’t read nearly enough. Life keeps us busy 🙂
