Ayala Moriel Musk Malabi Perfume Review

Ayala Moriel Musk Malabi

If I was as wealthy as a princess, I would literally bathe in in Ayala Moriel Musk Malabi in the summer. I would then exit my bazillion dollar champagne and Musk Malabi bath only to spray on at least an ounce of Musk Malabi onto my body and hair. I would then robe myself into luxurious textiles form exotic lands and paint my lips with the rose scented rouge and powder my face with rice powder. And then I’d brush my teeth and rinse my mouth out with Musk Malabi. What the heck else are the 1% doing with their money???

Musk Malabi opens with a the juiciest orange with a cool, sharp green cardamom. The heart is a sheer, fruity rose with a sheer “vanilla cream”. Musk Malabi is a musk perfume. It’s heart is a mix of a slightly sweaty cedar, rose petals and this stunning musk. The musk is vegetal, complex musk that is somehow warm yet slightly crisp and metallic with fruity undertones.

As a life-long consumer of malabi, I do think of Musk Malabi as gourmand, but I think this about many rose perfumes. I do think that Musk Malabi is a beautiful perfume interpretation of the dessert. It’s light and floral with the perfect amount of creaminess. Malabi is surprisingly light and refreshing as far as custards go. And this perfume is a perfect olfactory interpretation of the dessert. I mean, even the musk in this seems “chilled” which further brings to mind malabi.

Notes listed include bitter orange, cardamom, coriander, blood orange, Turkish rose, Bulgarian rose, Tunisian neroli, Egyptian orange blossom, atlas cedarwood, botanical musk accord and Tahitian vanilla. Launched 2014. PERFUMER – Ayala Moriel

Give Musk Malabi a try if you like musk-florals or cardamom. Or if you like perfumes like Narciso Rodriguez for Her, Annick Goutal Musc Nomade, Thirdman Eau Nomade, House of Cherry Bomb Cardamom Rose, Strange Invisible Perfumes Musc Botanique and/or DSH Perfumes The Color Orange. Musc Malabi is unisex.

Projection and longevity are average for a natural EDP.

The 1/2 oz EDP retails for $120 at Ayala Moriel (now you get why I’d have to be insanely wealthy). Samples and other sizes are also available for purchase.

Victoria’s Final EauPINIONCardamom, rosewater and musk. Out of the Ayala Moriel perfumes that I’ve sampled, Musc Malabi is my favorite. I could seriously bathe in this stuff.

This was featured in my Summer Perfume Picks 2014.

Also, 10% of proceeds of Musk Malabi will be donated to organizations to help aid Syrian refugees. Personally, this is a very important to me. After firsthand seeing thousands of displaced Syrian refugees (mostly widows and orphans) in the streets of Turkey, I decided to get involved. I’m a volunteer with the International Rescue Committee working with families in the Seattle area.

  1. thank you for your involvement!

undoubtedly the raw materials are outrageous in this, and proceeds going to good works will always make me dig a little deeper.

good news to wake up to!

    1. Yes, the raw stuff is crazy expensive in Musk Malabi and that’s why I’m not being “judgy” about the price. I know this doesn’t contain “budget” materials and that the price is justified (which can’t always be said about crazy expensive perfumes).

It’s an amazing perfume. I really do wish I could bathe in it.

  2. Thank you for bringing this group to my attention and the perfume. Charity navigator gave them their highest rating and they do work where I live so that means a lot to me.

    1. I researched them rather thoroughly as many refugee organizations are in the area. It was important for me to work with a legit group and one that isn’t religiously affiliated. It’s a great organization. They do offer some volunteer opportunities that are less time consuming such as back-to-school drives, etc.
