Can you believe it’s already September?! In a few months it’ll be a new year! I’ve already started back to graduate school. This is my final year. I look forward to receiving my Masters of Science but I also know that it’s going to be a very stressful year. To cope, I made a little deal with myself (one that popped into my head while receiving an excellent facial at Omorovicza‘s flagship spa in Budapest) – Get some sort of spa treatment or facial once a month after important deadlines. I’m busy but the treatments themselves don’t last very long. Their results can last for a week! I need healthy ways to manage stress and I think a spa afternoon is a great stress-buster. I also have many wonderful spas and schools within my reach here that I should be enjoying¹. In addition, I want to create a more spa-like environment at home. I need a place where I can unwind and relax when things get overwhelming. You may already have this, but I didn’t. I updated my life with nice towels, fragrance diffuser and smart lighting. I’m basically trying to create some calm before the storm.
Aromatherapy Associates has a new perfume that is a like a spa day everyday. This is a brand that I’m familiar with (shout out to Beautyhabit for great gift with purchases). As the name would suggest, this is a brand that is all about aromatherapy. The samples of bath/body products that I have used from the brand have been exceptional natural luxuries. They have aromatherapy oils in their collection but this is their new, limited edition perfume.
The opening of this perfume is cool and refreshing. It’s like icy mint, lemon juice and rosewood. it’s also aromatic like a rosemary and lavender lemonade too. To my surprise, this is a rose-centric perfume. But, it’s unlike so many of the rose perfumes I review on EauMG. This is a natural rose that’s uplifting and bright. It’s a radiant rose with citrus and notes that remind me of wild lemon balm. There’s also this bright, lemon-y frankincense. The dry down is earthier and more grounded. It’s like patchouli and sandalwood with a hint of delicate spice.
This is unlike many perfumes that I wear but I’ve found myself reaching for this since classes have started. It’s a fragrance that is both rejuvenating and calming. If I can’t be at the spa, this perfume can transport me there, even if my reality is that I’m drowning in biostats and questioning all my life choices. It’s a really centering fragrance that is just as much a treatment as it is a perfume.
Notes listed include Italian bergamot, Turkish rose, French cassis and sandalwood. Launched in 2017. PERFUMER – Geraldine Howard²
Give Aromatherapy Associates perfume a try if you like spa-like fragrances or natural aromatherapy fragrances. Or the smell of body products from brands like Borghese, Aveda or Decléor. Or the more luxury/expensive natural spa brands like JK7. If you’re already a fan of the Aromatherapy Associates brand, then you’ll most likely like this perfume as well.
For a natural perfume, I was surprised by this projection. It has average projection and longevity. It doesn’t wear very closely to the skin until the dry-down.
The 1.5 oz retails for $108 at Aromatherapy Associates and NET-A-PORTER. This is a limited edition perfume (only 2000 bottles have been produced).
Victoria’s Final EauPINION – Spa day everyday. It’s like a fragrance and a treatment. And what else did you expect from a perfume by a brand like Aromatherapy Associates? It’s really the perfect perfume extension for their brand of bath/body and skincare products.
¹Yes, this can be pricy but between daily deal sites, schools and NYC competition, you’d be surprised at what sort of “deals” you can find.
²The perfume is dedicated in memory to co-founder Geraldine Howard. This is one of the last perfumes she created.

Self-care in grad school is soooooo important! I like your spa-like home environment idea.
One week and I already feel like pulling out my hair…these little changes do help though.
