April Aromatics Tempted Muse is a perfume inspired by ambrosia, “The Nectar of the Gods”. To me this sounds so serious, like do I really deserve to smell like Gods? (No need to answer that). I do love the idea of an ambrosia fragrance, but when I wear Tempted Muse, I don’t think it’s overly serious. It’s a scrumptious fruity floral that seems more attainable than something only for Gods. It makes me think of the beauty of Central American beaches or like a beach-destined honeymoon.
Tempted Muse opens as a pink bubblegum tuberose. It’s a gorgeous, mouth-watering tropical floral of a creamy ylang, honeyed jasmine and ripe cherimoya (like a banana/peach) . It has a warmth to it that is like being in a tropical, humid environment surrounded by fruits and flowers. As the scent wears it’s more like a fruity vanilla with a candy-coated sweetness. This may sound cloying, but it’s not. This scent has a sheerness to it and the sweetness seems more realistic, like the sweetness from flowers and fruits. The dry-down of Tempted Muse pairs this vanilla-fruits sweetness with a delicate sandalwood incense.
Now I really want a Costa Rican getaway…which I guess is more attainable than me seeking out divine nectars.
Notes listed include frangipani, tuberose, jasmine, rose otto, tonka bean, sandalwood, ylang ylang, pink grapefruit, vanilla and anis fruit accord. Launched in 2015. PERFUMER – Tanja Bochnig
Give Tempted Muse a try if you like tropical fruity-florals. Or if you like perfumes like HEELEY Bubblegum Chic, Aftelier Palimpsest, Annick Goutal Songes, Honore de Pres Vamp à NY and/or Guerlain Aqua Allegoria Lys Soleia.
Projection and longevity are above average for a natural perfume.
The 1 oz bottle retails for $225 at Luckyscent and April Aromatics. Samples are also available for purchase.
Victoria’s Final EauPINION – Tropical florals and pink bubblegum. It’s fun.

Hi V, thank you so much for the link, you remind me that I must start to link more again, as I seem to have gotten away from it… It’s always great to get more perspectives, for example I don’t get the bubblegum tuberose at all, but I’ll come with you on the Costa Rican get-away anytime 🙂
Nice to see you almost back to schedule, it would be nice to hear (even) more about how you’re settling in, in part my curiousity and love of living spaces and decor.
I love discussing fragrance and hearing everyone’s own perspective. This is why I love blogging!
A Costa Rican getaway sounds perfect to me. I would totally bring Tempted Muse along too.
I’m getting there. Still not settled in and back to normal, but getting closer. I blog when I can (which isn’t as much as I want…)
I should do a “settled in” post. Maybe that should be my motivation for getting this place more put together 🙂
So I don’t have much to add other than that I agree with Mark Twain that the cherimoya is the most delicious fruit on earth and a perfume with that scent sounds very intriguing. Yum yum!
Cherimoya isn’t officially listed but something in this reminds me of that. Really now that I’m thinking about it, there should be a perfume inspired by that glorious fruit!
