April Aromatics Nectar of Love is a romantic fragrance. It definitely reminds me of some sort of nectar of the goddesses. It’s sweet, syrupy florals that are almost too good to be true. This is where I like to think of it as romantic love. Love is complicated and Nectar of Love spares us of any pain or conflict. It’s a pretty, uplifting perfume that’s like wearing “warm and fuzzy feelings”.
Nectar of Love is a sweet white floral. It opens with citrus, but not like the fruit. It’s more like citrus-hued rose petals. The heart of the perfume is a lush white floral. The ylang-ylang is tropical, creamy with a hint of mint. The tuberose is voluptuous and cooling, contrasting the creamy notes of vanilla, jasmine and ylang. The dry-down of Nectar of Love is a rich vanilla. For most of the wear, it’s a creamy vanilla-sandalwood on my skin.
Notes listed include bergamot, yuzu, Tunisian neroli, rose otto, jasmine sambac, tuberose, ylang-ylang, sandalwood and bourbon vanilla. Launched in 2012. PERFUMER – Tanja Bochnig
Give Nectar of Love a try if you like creamy white florals or “vanilla florals”. Or perfumes like Estee Lauder Private Collection Amber Ylang-Ylang, AERIN Tangier Vanille, Chabaud Nectar de Fleurs, By Kilian Sweet Redemption, Aftelier Palimpsest and/or Phoenix Botanicals Night Bloom.
I found that Nectar of Love has average projection and longevity (which is above average for a natural perfume).
The 1 oz bottle retails for $190 at Luckyscent. Samples are also available for purchase.
Victoria’s Final EauPINION –Creamy vanilla white floral custard. It’s really pretty. Being a natural, this perfume doesn’t come across as suffocating. Notes like tuberose and vanilla can be very heavy, but they aren’t in Nectar of Love. Instead of packing a punch, they hug.
