In 2012, I fell out of love and back in love with the Pacific Northwest. What is keeping me around? Mountains, good food, creative people…and oh, my husband’s job. Seriously, the PNW is filled with creative people. I have my theories. I believe that creativity takes risk. #1 – It’s pioneer land with an adventurer spirit. Read spirit as ADHD which I think has been inherited and we have this group of risk takers. We have this population of risk takers. #2 – You can take a risk when you feel more financially secure. We have a great economy that fuels the creative types. I think the prices of NYC and San Francisco has made all of the creative types flee. You can’t feel creative when you are worrying about if there is a roof over your head.
In the later months of 2012, I fortunately met up with some of our local talent and here’s what we’ve cooked up for you guys in 2013:
Rainforests. Rebels. Revolution.
ThePacific Northwest… a land of Old Growth forests and rugged coasts, rainforests, fields of lavender, volcanoes and icy mountains. The Northwest has a history of innovation, progressiveness and creativity that spreads across the world – grunge, coffee culture, technology and green industries. The spirit of the Northwest is unconventional, fearless. It breaks the rules and loves it. This fearless spirit feeds creativity. The isolated geography fed a frontier spirit of doing things independently and creating your own goods. We’re rebels in the wild, wild Northwest and we do things our own way. This rebellious spirit and abundance of natural beauty has fueled another art form: the art of perfume. It’s no surprise that the Northwest is home to numerous talented indie perfumes. Break the rules. Leave corporate perfumes behind. Join our perfume revolution.
