I’ve been really happy with most of the Alima Pure Mineral products that I have ordered. They have wonderful matte shades for the eyes and face. And all of the eyeshadows have been very pretty and easy to use. Here are some swatches of “shades of purple”. Not all of the shades are purple but they do have purple in them: purple, eggplant, mauve, cool-toned taupes. All of these shades work together. I love the results.
1 – Shimmer Eyeshadow in Ingrid – This is a smoky, taupe mauve with shimmers in all colors.
2 – Matte Eye Color in Raven – This is a completely matte shade. Raven is a light to medium smoky, cool taupe. This color can also be used to fill in brows. It works well as a brow definer for “ashy” hair colors. I use it as that sometimes.
3 – Shimmer Eyeshadow in Twilight – Twilight is a medium smoky plum with burgundy shimmer. This shade is a medium to dark shade.
4- Shimmery Eyeshadow in Milan – Milan is a medium to dark brown-ish bronze plum shade with tons of gold shimmer. I also like it as an eyeliner, smudge it around, it makes a nice smoky eye.
5- Shimmer Eyeshadow in Aria – Aria is a smoky plum with plum pearl.
6 – Shimmer Eyeliner in Soiree (sample given with purchase) – Soiree is a light smoky mauve taupe with tons of silver pearl. This is an eyeliner, but I use it for a light to medium shadow.
7 – Pearluster Eyeshadow in Cassis (sample given with purchase) – This is a smoky light lilac shade. I love this shade under the brow. It’s a light highlighter that goes well with pinks and purples.
Below is a look that I did using the following shades shown above: Twilight, Ingrid, Soiree, and Cassis. Here’s how I got this smoky plum look…I applied concealer to lids as a primer. I recommend a primer for all loose powder/mineral shadows. With a fluffy, large brush I applied Cassis from lash line to brow. From lash line to crease I applied Ingrid with the same brush. With a blending crease brush, I applied the shade Twilight in the crease. With a slanted liner brush, I applied Twilight to the bottom lash line. In the inner corner of the eye, I applied the shade Soiree, blending upward and outward. I took this shade and applied it halfway on the lower lash line, starting at the inner corner. I went back and applied more of Cassis under the arch. I applied MAC Liner in Macroviolet to all of the top lash line and only halfway on the bottom lash line, stopping in the middle. I curled lashes and applied a few coats of Rimmel in brown/black to top and bottom lashes.
When using eyeshadow brushes these mineral shadows apply sheer. All of the colors featured in this post are buildable with a smooth texture. I like these colors for creating an “everyday” plum smoky eye. These colors really work well with my blue eyes. These shades are all “taupey” enough to work for many complexions and eye colors. I do think these colors would work with green eyes or hazel eyes. And these colors work well with naturally “ashy” hair colors. I really want full-size in all of the shadows featured in this post. These are “me” colors.
Alima Pure Eye Colors are available in sample sizes. These are pictured above and retail for $1.50. Full size shadows retail for $11. These are available Alima Pure’s online boutique.
