cool, i remember her! i love the ‘cat eye’ look. but, since i am 48 years old, i have found that instead of using ‘black’ for my color of choice, i have to now use ‘brown/black’ but, the effect is just as awesome. just softer, less harsh, less aged. it’s a move that was definitely the one for me. i suppose i did it at about age 45/46, and it is worth it if you find that you just cannot make your eyes look right anymore.
I love black/brown. It looks better than black on most people because of its warm undertones. I recommend it for redheads, olive complexions, blondes, heck, mostly everybody. It is just as dark but it more forgiving because of the warming tones.
Love the blog. Hope all goes well with your new home.
Thank you so much! Glad you enjoy both of my blogs ๐
I adore this blog!!!
Thank you!
Annie, thank for reading ๐

Hi! I need some help, I am trying to buy a present for my sister, she has described her preference as “clean” and “floral” and maybe a little crisp. But not too fruity.
I have no idea what that means, but I assume you do. Can you help out?
Best,
J
I’ll try my best. I’ll also do a fragrance suggestion post for this too. I love trying to “figure out” fragrance but it is challenging. I have a few suggestions:
Aroma M Geisha Blanche is a light white floral that is clean and fresh. It reminds me of expensive European soaps. It has fruit/lychee but is isn’t a key player. It’s a “niche” fragrance so everyone won’t have a bottle!
Annick Goutal Un Matin d’Orage is a pretty, “wet” and fresh white floral.
Many people like Philosophy Eternal Grace because it is light and effortless to wear. Estee Lauder Pure White Linen is popular too but it does open up fruity.
Do you know of any scents that she likes or has worn in the past?
Thank you for the suggestions! She mentioned that she liked a Victoria’s Secret apple something, but I am not to 100% on that.
She said she really wants to find a “scent.”
Thanks for your help!
Diptyque also makes some interesting ones such as “L’Ombre dans L’Eau” and L’Autre”. Of the ones I’ve smelled, your suggestions are spot on!
I have tried L’Ombre but not L’Autre. I need to hop on it! ๐
Do you know the scent by “fresh” called “linden” its on oldie but goodie, they no longer make it ๐ do you know a complimentary scent, I’d appreciate your thoughts! I love your site and loved your help with the search for the perfect linden scent! Fresh made my perfect scent once, but no longer! Thanks for any guidance for my quest!
I just happened to stumble across your site. I am working on a book set in the 1920’s and I was researching perfumes of the era which led me to bois which got me here. What a great site! you’ve reminded me why perfume is so important. Anyway, I’m always looking for scents like YSL’s Nu. It’s been discontinued, but you can still get old stock online. But I’m always looking for something similar, not too feminine as I like to be the feminine in my perfume, but not manly. NOT SWEET! Any suggestions?
I would like to find out how to purchase this body lotion please e mail me.
Thank u
Hello,
where can i find acai berry magnolia lotion in nyc ?
TNX,
Yikes, not sure. I think it’s been discontinued ๐
Have you tried ‘Trouble’ by Boucheron? I got a sample in Nordstrom’s several years ago and it’s been my main fragrance ever since. Lots of jasmine, deep and musky tones, I think I smell some vanilla, it’s a powerful fragrance that walks in the door before you do, so use with a light hand. I get compliments all the time.
I love Trouble ๐
Would have loved to enjoy the blog more, but disabling right clicks with a “Link to blog” message? It’s called “Open in new tab” Power users tend to do so to make reading interesting posts faster. ๐
Hi,
Just checking to see if I can comment and figure out how to get an avatar. I recently signed up, and love this blog
but can’t find “instructions” for setting up a profile. ๐
Okay, here goes!
BTW, I absolutely love DSH perfumes, and Dawn is so nice. Your review of Tubereuse convinced me to try it, and it’s a new favorite!
Thanks!
I love DSH Perfumes so much. You have on idea how happy it makes me to know that I’ve exposed even just another person to that brand. There are some great perfumes in that line. Tubereuse is one of my favorites as well.
Thank you for reading!
Hi Victoria,
Practically a month has past and I only just found your response to me because I was checking out your EauMG blog again! Perhaps I didn’t catch a notification email?
Thanks so much for writing! Yes, I have quite a few favorites from DSH now. There are so many to choose from, which is so unusual for a perfume line AND which I absolutely love! Even the ones that aren’t for me(and so far that has hardly been the case) are just lovely. For the most part, I’m finding them quite addictive.
It’s a bit hard to tell from the dates when you actually moved East, but welcome!!!
I’m a born and raised Manhattanite, so we should definitely keep in touch.
I’ll send you a friend request on FB.
Love your blogs, but I can’t imagine how you do it all on top of work!
Keep up the great work! ๐
please review blackbird’s broken glass!!!
Just did ๐
