A Lab on Fire LiquidNight is a fragrance inspired by the “hidden depth of the night in New York City”. I really don’t want to think about the hidden things, persons or activities that hide deep within NYC at night. I don’t even want to know where the “liquid” inspiration came from…
Smoky woods and a coconut lime. Saffron cream. LiquidNight is deliciously comforting. The heart and dry down still has smoky woods and lavender but it’s much more creamy and sweeter with more vanilla. I find it cozy.
So this is what I expected Malle for Dries Van Noten to be like – smoky woods, saffron and creamy vanilla. I rather enjoy wearing this one and I see myself wanting to smell like this in the cooler winter months. It may be inspired by a skeevy dive bar or something but I get winter white cashmere and flickering fireplace from it. It smells like the perfect night in, not a night out.
Notes listed include bergamot, lime, saffron, sage, lavender, Hinoki wood, incense, vanilla and musk. Launch date 2012. PERFUMER – Carlos Benaim
Give LiquidNight a try if you like creamy fragrances. Or perfumes like Malle for Dries Van Noten, M. Micallef Vanille Orient, Etat Libre d’Orange Fils de Dieu, L’Artisan Parfumeur Safran Troublant and/or Atelier Cologne Vanille Insensee. LiquidNight is sweet and creamy but it’s unisex. The smoky notes help to balance this fragrance.
Projection is average. Longevity is above average. I”m talking 12+ hours of wear.
The 2 oz bottle retails for $110 at Luckyscent. Samples are also available for purchase.
Victoria’s Final EauPINION – Smoky vanilla woods. I rather enjoy this sort of thing, especially in the cooler months.
