A Beautiful Life Smitten PINK is a fruity-floral with self-described “Southern florals”. And I do get Southern florals in it but it doesn’t conjure up a Southern belle. Instead I get a festival chick.
Smitten PINK opens up as a blast of pink grapefruit. It’s sour but sweet. There is a lot of black currant. This smells sweet, tart, and a little musky. The muskiness is that fruity “blackberry” like musk that accompanies black currant. The opening is citrus-fruity. With time the florals blossom. They aren’t immediately identifiable as any one flower. They’re mainly “humid”. I do begin to notice magnolia with a waxy freesia. The dry-down is the waxy florals with a flower child musk.
The overall feel of this fruity-floral is youthful and fun. But, I get more “young hippie” from it or more “Bonnaroo” than cutesy school girl. It’s a fun festival perfume.
Notes listed include grapefruit, black currant, gardenia, magnolia, freesia, oakmoss, and musk. Launched 2009.
Give Smitten PINK a try if you like fruity-florals. Or if you like perfumes like Victoria’s Secret Love Spell, Escada Sexy Graffiti, Opus Oils Kitten, Wiggle 101 and/or The Body Shop Dewberry.
Being a perfume oil, I expected for it to wear closely to the skin. Smitten PINK actually projects and has average longevity.
A pure parfum roller-ball retails for $38 at A Beautiful Life.
Victoria’s Final EauPINION – Southern music festival fruity-floral. It’s not something that I would find myself wearing. But, I mean the thought of going to Bonnaroo ever again exhausts me. Now when I was younger, I would have happily wore a boho fruity-floral.
