A 2010 Glittery Black Nail Color Guide

2010 glitter black nail polish guideRecently I got a craving for a shiny black nail color with gold glitter and/or shimmer. I still haven’t found one but I did find lots of black nail polishes with glitter during my research. Surprisingly, most of these nail colors are in the affordable, budget range with prices falling under $10. Here’s my starter guide to glittery black nail colors. If you know of anymore, please add the to the list. And if you know of a black with gold glitter, let me know! I’m still searching…

Budget Glittery Nail Colors/Under $10: J0rdana Nail Polish in Night Fall is a black with lots of silver micro-glitter. It retails for $1.50. Sinful Colors Nail Enamel in Secret Admirer is a beautiful black with lots of tiny silver glitter. It’s a deal at only $2. Orly Nail Lacquer Mini in Goth is a black with silver glitter. It retails for $3.50 (that’s the mini). NYX Nail Polish in Asphalt (not pictured) is a black with multi-colored glitter that retails for about $4. Eyeko has 2 glittery black nail polishes in Cosmic, a black with multi-colored glitter. And Vampira which is a black with lots of red glitter. Vampira is one of my favorite black glitters. These retail for about $4. Sonia Kashuk Nail Enamel in Starry Night is a satin black with dainty silver glitter. This retails for about $5 and is sold at Target. Sephora by OPI Nail Color has 2 glittery black nail polishes. There’s 212-Sephora (chunky multi-colored glitter in black) and Never Enough Shoes (smaller multi-colored glitter in black, not pictured). I love Never Enough Shoes because it remids me of the night sky. Both retail for $9.

Mores Expensive Glittery Nail Colors/Over $10: Priti NYC Nail Polish in Bowles Black is a black with lots of shimmery silver ultra-small glitter. This goes for $12.50. I think of it as a classy glittery black. Anna Sui Small Sparkle Nail Polish in Black Sparkle (not pictured) is a black with little silver shimmers. It comes in adorable packaging and retails for $15. Ā I love the shade of Deborah Lippmann Nail Color in Bad Romance. This is an awesome Gaga inspired black with tons of fuchsia glitter. Stunning! This polish retails for $18.

My favorites are the ones like Eyeko Vampira and Deborah Lippmann Bad Romance because I’m loving the red or pink glitter. My favorite name, of course, Bad Romance šŸ™‚

  1. Yay! Awesome that you did this. You have way more than I do, but I’d like to add my two cents if you don’t mind. My favorite blacks (that actually look almost identical) are Essie’s Over the Top and Deborah Lippmann’s Hit Me With Your Best Shot. Both are shimmery rather than glittery, but the effect is just sooo chic and I love them both. My experience has led me to believe that nothing wears better than Essie, which is good news because they’re about a third of the price of Lippmann. I don’t have any glitter polishes, but am looking at those Eyekos right now, the price is right!

    1. Add your 2 “scents”! That’s why I do these. I love a black polish with shimmer. It’s much more “classy” than a satin black.
I love Essie too! Great product for the price. These days I prefer Essie over OPI, which is saying something for me. I used to be a mega OPI fan.
      The Eyekos are fun.

  2. I love Kashuk’s Starry Night… dainty is a good word. It’ shimmery but doesn’t beat you over the head with it.

I don’t know if these two are available anymore, but I also have Sally Hansen Black Diamond (tiny silver glitter) and L’Oreal Bijou Crystals in B Rebellious (tiny multicolor glitter).

I really enjoy these collections you pull togeter – more please! šŸ™‚

    1. I had to go back to Target and buy Kashuk’s Starry Night. It’s a “classy” glitter nail color.
Thanks for sharing the other shades. I knew that Sally Hansen had one but couldn’t find the name anywhere!
I love doing these “guides” because it gets people to share shades that I often overlook or forget about.
Still looking for one with gold shimmer/glitter! 5-7 years ago L’Oreal had a LE one that was gorgeous! It was black with tons of gold shimmer.

        1. I saw Sally Hansen Black Diamond at Target today – and another glitter black: Nicole by OPI’s Pitch Black Glimmer (tiny silver glitter).

I have Raven by Zoya, which sounds like the two mentioned above, shimmer instead of glitter. Edyta by Zoya is kind of an odd olive-green/gold/black. It doesn’t fit your craving of black with gold glitter, but it might be a distant relative. Some good photos here: (GlamCanada blog).

          1. Totally forgot about Pitch Black Glitter. There’s also a Nicole one with multi-colored glitter.
I love that Zoya. It isn’t exactly what I wanted. It’s more than I wanted! Beautiful!

  3. I just found another one in InStyle Magazine: Borghese Nail Polish in Nero Magico. It appears to be silvery glitter with a black base, but it’s a little hard to tell in the picture. $8 at drugstores. They also have a shade called Ipnotico Gold that I’m VERY interested in (gold shimmer). Don’t know how opaque it is, but I need to investigate.

    1. I’ve had good luck with Borghese. I knew they had a black but I didn’t know that had any with shimmer. Must be a new collection.
