Thorn & Bloom Wild Rose EDP Natural Perfume Review

Thorn & Bloom Wild Rose

Rose Week 2016

Every Rose Week, I like to include an all-natural rose soliflore because roses are naturally beauty. This year’s natural is from indie brand, Thorn & Bloom.

Wild Rose opens as an entanglement of fruits, wild weeds and incense haze. I’ve always said that tarragon and rose should be in more perfumes because it’s a stunning combo. And this stunning combo is prominent here. It adds a “green spiciness” to this naturally fruity rose. Wild Rose wears like a… Continue reading | 2 Comments

Aftelier Wild Roses EDP Perfume Review

Aftelier Wild Roses

Aftelier Wild Roses is inspired by perfumer Mandy Aftel’s garden. It’s meant to come across like walking around and smelling all of the flowers, not a soliflore but more of a “multiflore”. For me it’s a very synesthetic fragrance. I smell it in colors.

The note list sounds interesting and the bottle is really pretty.

Wildfox is a weird one. It opens with a… Continue reading | 2 Comments

January Scent Project Smolderose Perfume Review

January Scent Project Smolderose

Rose Week 2018 – A Smoky Rose

It’s Rose Week on EauMG! This is the annual celebration of rose-centric perfumes! This week I’m reviewing 5 fragrances that display a different aspect of rose perfumes.

Before diving into straight-up rose soliflores this week, I’m focusing on some non-traditional rose perfumes. January Scent Project Smolderose is one of those perfumes that borders on the line of “is this or isn’t this a rose”. I mean, why would something be called Smolderose if there were no rose, right?… Continue reading | 13 Comments

Pinrose Perfume Reviews – Volume II

Pinrose perfumes

A few years ago, I reviewed perfumes by Pinrose. Since then, they’ve expanded their line adding new fragrances. They’ve also changed their packaging and marketing¹. Here’s my thoughts on some of the perfumes that I didn’t review in my initial post.

Pinrose Secret Genius

Secret Genius

Notes of Madagascan vanilla, caramel and sandalwood. Launched in 2015. PERFUMER – Harry Fremont

Secret Genius is a gourmand. It opens with flowers and a coconut-like nuttiness. The scent wears as a nutty vanilla. It eventually dries down to… Continue reading
