1960’s Fashion – Get the Makeup Look of Claudine Auger

Actress Claudine Auger

I love this look of Claudine Auger. You probably know her as a Bond girl. There is something so wearable and “girl next door” with this look. Here’s what I did to get this Claudine inspired look:

FACE: I applied Guerlain Lingerie de Peau Foundation in Clair Beige. Under my eyes, I blended Neutrogena Healthy Skin Concealer in Fair. With the brush provided, I applied Lancôme Colour Ideal Pressed Powder in Medium 20. High on the apples of the cheeks, I applied Alima Pure Matte Blush in Apple Blossom, a “natte” light pink (one of my favorite natural looking blushes). I took my brow pencil and exaggerated my beauty mark.

EYES: I brushed brows into place with a spoolie and filled them in with Benefit Instant Brow Pencil in Medium. I applied NYX Eye Shadow Base in Skin Tone (not shown) to the entire lid. For the shadow, I’m using Physician’s Formula Matte Quad in Canyon Classics. I took the lightest butter cream shade and applied from lash line to brows. In the crease, I applied the top, matte sand shade. I thickly lined the entire top lash line with Stila Smudge Stick in Lionfish, a dark brown with shimmer. I lined the bottom lash line, not the water line! I curled lashes and applied a few coats of Estee Lauder Sumptuous Mascara (not shown). I then applied a half strip of Ardell Lashes.

LIPS: I adore the soft pink lips in this look. I lined my natural lip line with Rimmel 1000 Kisses Lip Liner Pencil in Wild Clover, a soft pink/mauve. With e.l.f. Small Angled Brush, I applied MAC Lipstickin Please Me, a medium mauve.

For a fragrance, I went with the original Ralph Lauren Laurenbecause I wanted a spicy floral. I haven’t worn this stuff in forever.

Do you have any weekend plans? We’re going to the Gauguin Polynesia exhibit at SAM. Maybe I’ll be inspired to review tropical fragrances next week. Hope you guys have a great weekend!

  1. The original Lauren? I love that stuff!!
I remember a precise moment in my apartment at that time, spraying it on, the look and feel of the bottle, and the scent of the perfume (early 80s)

    Love this look on you!
    bloody frida recently posted..Transitions

    1. I think it’s great stuff but I often forget about it! I always loved the 1 oz bottle that looked like a dagger 😉

Thank you! Have a great weekend!

    1. Thank you.
I would guess hers are real. I’ve seen other pics with her and they look the same way. I’m sure it’s genetic. Some people get lucky.

  2. Ralph Lauren Lauren – LOVE it. It reminds me of being a little girl – I’d steal a spray from my mom’s bottle and read my cousin’s Seventeen magazine with Phoebe Cates on the cover!

Loving this look on you as well. You encourage me to finally perfect putting on false lashes!

    1. 🙂 Lauren is an awesome fragrance. Phoebe Cates! I should do a Phoebe look!
Good luck with the falsies! It takes practice but once you get it, you get it.
