Here’s a fairly young picture/magazine cover of Catherine Deneuve from 1963. This is that classic early 60’s “French” look. It’s all about the black eyeliner. Here’s what I did to get a similar Catherine Deneuve look:
FACE: Since I have under eye discoloration, I applied Neutrogena Healthy Skin Smoothing Concealer in Fair and blended with my fingers. With the sponge included, I applied Neutrogena Mineral Sheers Powder Foundation in Natural Ivory. The flash has washed Catherine out, so there’s no blush. π I’m addicted to blush.
EYES: Brows are nicely groomed. I brushed brows in place with Maybelline Great Lash Clear Mascara. I applied e.l.f. Essential Eyelid Primer in Nude. For the eyes, I’m using Physician’s Formula Matte Collection Quad in Canyon Classics. I brushed the matte cream from lash line to brows. In the crease I blended the lightest brown on the bottom row. This look is all about the eyeliner. I lined the entire upper lash line with Wet n Wild Mega Eyes CrΓ¨me Eyeliner in Black. And you wing out for that “classic” 60’s look. I lined half of the bottom lash line with Dior Waterproof Eye Liner in Trinidad Black. I curled lashes and applied a few coats of Estee Lauder MagnaScopic Maximum Mascara in Black to top and bottom lashes (not shown). I then applied a strip of Ardell Fashion Lashes.
LIPS: Lips are lightly colored. Directly from the tube I applied Badger Lip Tint & Shimmer in Copper. It’s a warm bronze sheer shimmer. I applied a small amount of mark Glow Baby Glow Lip GlossΒ in Player (not pictured), a sheer bronze shimmer, to the bottom lip. I blotted.
And since this is Catherine Deneuve here, I couldn’t help but wear a Chanel fragrance. So, I went with Chanel No.5 EDT.
What are your weekend plans? I wanted to go to Portland but that’s not going to work out this weekend. No Frink sitter. I think I’ll hang around home and work on the house. The studio is a mess and I need to get out the winter clothes and put away the bright and colorful “summer” clothes. Bittersweet.
That’s a very good look for you. I would NEVER be able to get away with no blush. *Never* I love that photo of Deneuve – I don’t recall ever seeing her that young! Have a good weekend.
I look so dead without blush. It’s one of my favorite cosmetics.
It’s a good pic of her. Hope you have a great weekend!
Perfect eyes!!! You look beautiful in that make-up.
My plans… Not much. I should probably finish unpacking my suitcases from the trip I returned from … 10 days ago! π

Thank you.
Why unpack? Keep it all in there until the next awesome vacation π
Wow, perfect makeup and perfect finish to those eyes and lips. Great one. Love it.

Thank you π
That is a gorgeous pic of Catherine, and it looks really good on you. I wish this type of eye makeup worked better with my eye shape. Unfortunately, I have Asian-shaped eyes (no inset to my eyelids).

I should clarify that I mean “unfortunately I don’t wear them as well because I have Asian-shaped eyes” not that it’s unfortunate that I have the eye shape that I have. π

I understand π
My husband hates it when I wear eye makeup like this. He rarely has an opinion on my makeup, but he’s always like “did you mean to do that?” or “oh, another 60’s look”. Oh, well.
Stop being so hot! =D
