1960’s Fashion – Get the Makeup Look of Britt Ekland

Britt Ekland

Oh, Britt Ekland, actress, Bond Girl, singer, and ex-wife of a Stray Cat. I like a women that can tell a story and you know that Britt has stories. I’m not sure about the exact date of this photograph of Britt. I’m going to guess late 60’s, early 70’s. I love this look for summer. You can see her freckles and I love the peach blush and lip color. Here’s what I did to get a similar look to Britt Ekland’s here:

FACE: I’ve already mentioned that you can see Britt’s freckles. I applied NARS Pure Radiant Tinted Moisturizer in Alaska with my fingers (really digging this stuff BTW). Under the eyes, I applied MAC Studio Finish Concealer in NC20 and blended with a concealer brush. I don’t need powder since my skin is crazy dry. If you need a powder, apply it. On the apples of the cheeks, I applied L’Oreal True Match Blush in Innocent Flush, a matte light peach.

EYES: I filled in brows with Lancôme Le Crayon Poudre Brow Pencil in Natural Blonde. For eyeshadow, I’m using Clinique Colour Surge Eye Shadow Duo in Sunburst. I applied the neutral shimmer shade from lash line to brows. In the crease, I blended the peachy bronze. I applied the neutral shimmer to the inner corner of the eyes too. I thinly lined the top lash line with Stila Smudgestick Liner in Lionfish, a dark bronze. I lined the bottom lash line with the same color but I lined it thicker. I curled lashes and applied a few coasts of Clinique Lash Doubling Mascara to top and bottom lashes. If you have normal people lashes, this should be enough. Personally, I feel I need falsies. Can I get bottom lash implants?

LIPS: On the lips, I applied Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick in Demure, a vintage light peach with shimmer. I then applied a small amount of Stila Lip Glaze in Peach to the bottom lip. I have no idea how my lips are so washed out in the pic. In person, they look very much like Britt’s.

And then I tried to tease my hair with brush and hairspray. If I had to have a fragrance for this look, I’d go with Van Cleef & Arpels First EDT because I can.

Overall, I’m pissed at my pictures. My eye makeup looks too dark and my lips are too pale. But, I promise it’s a pretty look in person. I love it as a retro summer look.

What are your weekend plans? I have a few home projects that we really need to wrap up. And I do not want to do them. Ever. I hope your weekend plans are much more exciting than mine.

    1. Yeah, her lip color has more orange. It’s not easy to find one like that. I think I have one from Wet n Wild that would have been better, one of their matte ones.
