1960’s Fashion – Get the Makeup Look of Angie Dickinson

Angie Dickinson

I think this makeup looks so great with Angie Dickinson’s coloring. I love her hair color in this picture. This is a “soft” 1960’s look and it really works for her. And it can work today too. It’s such a beautiful look that is all about a glowing complexion. Here’s what I did to get a similar look:

FACE: I applied Guerlain Lingerie de Peu in Claire Beige and blended with a makeup sponge. Under the eyes, I applied e.l.f. All Over Cover Stick in Apricot Beige and blended with Bobbi Brown Cream Blending Brush. With the brush provided, I applied Lancôme Color Ideal Pressed Powder in Medium 10. With a blush brush, I applied Too Faced Candlelight Powder down the nose on the the temples as a highlighter. With the same blush brush, I applied Clarins Blush Prodige Cheek Colour in Rosewood, a beautiful warm neutral, up the cheeks.

EYES: Brows are filled in thickly. I filled in brows with Benefit Brow Zings in Medium. I used the powder and set with the wax. I applied a small amount of e.l.f. Eyelid Primer in Nude to the lids. For the eyes, I’m using Wet n Wild ColorIcon Palette in Vanity. I applied the lightest matte shade from lashes to brows. This is my “canvas”. I took the deepest shimmer shade, a medium bronze shimmer, and blended in the outer “v” of the eye. Under the brows, I blended the pale buttercream shimmer. I closely lined the top and bottom lash line with Estee Lauder Artist’s Pencilin Softsmudge Brown. And then I smudged it a little for a “soft focus” look. I curled lashes and applied a few coats of Clinique Lash Doubling Mascara (not pictured) to top and bottom lashes. Her lashes look so great in this pic. I don’t think I can ever get mine this way. So, I applied a trimmed set of Ardell Lashes. Also, I used black mascara, etc. with this look. I think this is a look that calls for Black/Brown.

LIPS: Lips are subtle and pretty. Directly from the tube, I applied Victoria’s Secret VS Perfect Lipstick in Whisper, a light warm beige shimmer. That is more glossy when there is a flash. Pic above was taken in sunlight.

If you have a complexion like Angie Dickinson’s look here, you really need to get that Wet n Wild Eyeshadow. It’s so pretty on warm complexions with brown eyes. I decided on Keiko Mecheri Peau de Peche as my pretty peach fragrance.

Do you have any weekend plans? The weather is icky here. There is about a foot of snow trying to melt that’s being pounding by icky rain. I don’t really feel like leaving the house to frolic in dirty slush. Have a great weekend!
