1950’s Fashion: Get the Makeup Look of Pier Angeli

Get the Makeup look of Pier Angeli

I love Pier Angeli. She was so cute. Here’s what I did to get this adorable 1950’s makeup look of icon Pier Angeli:

FACE: We all can’t have Pier’s complexion, but we can try to fake it. With a foundation brush, I applied Lancôme Teinte Idole Foundation in Buff 3. With a concealer brush, I applied e.l.f. All Over Cover Stick in Apricot Beige, under the eyes. With a powder brush, I applied Rimmel Stay Matte Pressed Powder in Transparent. With a blush brush, I applied Everyday Minerals Blush in All Smiles, a matte rose-peach, high on the apples of the cheeks. I really should have contoured with this look, but I didn’t. You may want to.

EYES: Brows are thick. So I exaggerated mine with e.l.f. Studio Eyebrow Lifter & Filler in Ash. For the eyeshadow, I’m using Wet n Wild Color Icon Trio in Silent Treatment. With a fluffy shadow brush, I applied the lightest shade in the trio, a peaches and cream shimmer, from lash line to brow. In the crease, I blended the medium taupe shimmer in the trio. I lined top lash line and half of the bottom lash line with NARS Eye Pencilin London, a matte smoke gray. On the bottom water line, I lined with NYX Slim Eye Pencil in White to give a “bright eyed” look. I curled lashes and applied a few coats of Clinique Lash Doubling Mascara (not shown) to top and bottom lashes. I then applied Ardell Fashion Lashes.

LIPS: I love Pier’s lip color. I used Wet n Wild Perfect Pair Lip Wand in 122 Sensual Peach, a frosty peach. I lined lips with the lip liner and directly from the tube applied the lipstick.

Now for a fragrance…I want something light and a little fruity, so I went with Fresh Sake.

So, it’s Friday! Any weekend plans? I’m going to do some renovation work on Saturday. How fun! Yeah, I’m going to paint the front porch so that it actually matches the house. It’s been driving me nuts fr 2 years. Sunday will be my fun day. I’m getting Ethiopian food. I have been craving it all week. Actually, I can’t think past that.

  1. She really is adorable! I’d never heard of her before. She looks like a cross between Audrey Hepburn and Paulina Poriskova.

    1. Yes! She does. Rumor had it that she and James Dean dated, but her mother didn’t approve. So, that is that.

  2. I’d never heard of Pier Angeli. Have to agree with Elisa that Audrey Hepburn popped into my mind immediately — probably the eyebrows and pulled back hair. You did a great job here. You certainly share her beautiful smile. I love that she was pairing peach lips with that forest green. And her earrings are fabulous — yours are pretty fine too.
Good luck with the porch painting.

    1. Isn’t the color combo so pretty? And the green goes so nicely with her eyes. And her earrings are beautiful!

Ha, I need the luck. This renovation stuff sure is a lesson.

    1. I’ve never owned a pair of dangling earrings in my life. They drive me nuts! But, they are very pretty and I am envious of people that wear them.

  3. Wow, Victoria this is so soft and feminine. I wore vintage to a wedding yesterday and the long dangly earrings were off by 9pm, they drove me crazy kept getting caught up in the lace on my dress!

    1. Would love to see what you wore. Vintage lace? Sounds lovely!

Yes, dangly earrings are so beautiful but they drive me nuts too. Getting stuck in hair, collars, even cross body purses! Oh, well, the things we do for fashion 😉

  4. I love this look, and I love Pier Angeli 🙂
Her face has such a particular look, I think it’s her nose and small lips
I recreated this look and decided to contour my nose and cover my lips a bit with foundation and it looks pretty similar to Pier’s 🙂
