Thymes Agave Nectar Body Wash & Hand Lotion Review

Thymes is a personal and home fragrance line located in Minneapolis. For years, I’ve loved their home fragrances. After reading about Agave Nectar Bubble Bath in Allure’s Best of Beauty*, I knew it was time to try Thymes’ body line.

Thymes Agave Nectar

I’m not usually attracted to citrus fragrances so the description of Agave Nectar didn’t jump out at me. The scent itself does. Agave Nectar surprises me with how good it is. It’s a juicy ruby red grapefruit. It’s tart but not overly sulfuric. It’s balanced by the sweetness of guava. It’s not too sweet or too tart or too sulfuric. It smells very much like pink grapefruit! It’s a very “bright”, cheerful scent that is great year round.

Notes listed include red grapefruit, lemon blossom, guava, agave nectar, and musk.

You may like the scent of Agave Nectar if you like Fresh Sugar Lychee, NEST Grapefruit, Pacifica Hawaiian Ruby Guava and/or Vitabath Fresh Citrus Twist. You really should try if you love grapefruit fragrances.

Here’s the reviews of the products:

Body Wash – If you use this with a loofah it will really lather. I mean really lather. It rinses easily, no residue. It isn’t a very moisturizing body wash but it isn’t drying either. It’s very fragrant and leaves my upstairs scented after a shower.  The 9.25 oz bottle retails for $18.

Hand Lotion – This is a hand lotion, not a cream. It wears like a hand lotion. This means that it isn’t greasy and you’ll find yourself applying it a few times a day if you wash your hands frequently. I actually like to use the hand lotion as a body lotion because it’s more moisturizing than a regular ‘old lotion. The scent will linger but I find it subtle. I really like that it is in a pump bottle. The 8.25 oz. bottle retails for $14.

I really like the body products in this line. If I had to choose one to splurge on out of the two I reviewed, I’d go with the Body Wash. I love the clean lather and the bottle is going to last a very long time since you only need a small amount.

Agave Nectar products are available at Thymes and Candles Off Main.

    1. I love stories like that. They are inspirational and I love to her about people doing what they love.

Like I said, I’ve had their candles before in a few different scents, mainly more green or woodsy types of scents. I like the body products, good quality. I’m interested in Goldleaf and Olive Leaf next 🙂
