  • Boyfriend EDP Perfume Review

    Date: 2011.03.14 | Category: fragrance | Response: 9

Boyfriend is a fragrance by actress Kate Walsh. I had an opportunity to interview Kate Walsh about Boyfriend. There’s more information of the inspiration of this fragrance in that post. This is my review.

After wearing Boyfriend a few more times, I’ve decided that I really love it. At first I was wary. Does the world need another patchouli vanilla even if it is pleasant? Does the world need another fragrance gender neutral woodsy amber? Well, I could argue yes or… Continue reading | 9 Comments

  • Mistral Balinese Vanilla EDP Perfume Review

    Mistral Balinese Vanilla EDP Review

Mistral Balinese Vanilla perfume is a rich, creamy, woody oriental fragrance with spices, resins, and woods. Oh, and lots of vanilla. This fragrance is inspired by exotic Indonesian spice markets. Balinese Vanilla is a vanilla fragrance, but it is spicier than most. I think of it as more of a spice fragrance with vanilla than a vanilla fragrance with spice.

I like creamy orientals. I get a “liquid” amber at first. Immediately afterwards, Mistal Balinese Vanilla gets spicy, but it isn’t the… Continue reading | 9 Comments

Review of Ineke Evening Edged in Gold

We Three Kings Blogging Project : Gold

Ineke Evening Edged in Gold is the 4th fragrance in Ineke’s Alphabetical Perfume Series.  Evening Edged in Gold is an easy to wear (modern) floral oriental perfume. I chose Ineke Evening Edged in Gold as my “gold” choice in We Three Kings because it is a gilded floral. It’s elegant but relaxed. It seems like a fragrance that is meant to be worn to holiday parties.

    I like many Ineke… Continue reading | 24 Comments

  • Annick Goutal Musc Nomade EDP Fragrance Review

    Date: 2010.11.29 | Category: fragrance | Response: 12

This is the 4th essence in the Les Orientalistes collection. This Annick Goutal collection is inspired by musk and rose loving Qatar princesses, an “Orientalist” collection. The cool thing about this scent is that it lacks “top notes”. It also doesn’t get its muskiness from direct animal sources. Lately, I’ve been smitten by musky ambrette seed and other “musk” plant sources. I’ve been craving “soft” scents. Musc Nomade is the ultimate soft musk scent. It is my favorite “soft musk” perfume.

Musc Goutal is beautiful. Throughout the wear it smells… Continue reading | 12 Comments

  • Smell Bent Never Never Land EDT Fragrance Review

Smell Bent Never Never Land EDT Review

Smell Bent Never Never Land is a fragrance featured in the Leisure Cruise Collection, a collection that takes our sniffers around the world. Never Never Land is inspired by the vast Australian Outback. It’s a resiny, balsamic woodsy unisex fragrance heavy on amber.

Never Never Land is a dry, incense-like scent with rich resins. I like it. I get lots of amber from Never Never Land. It isn’t that “creamy” amber often sniffed in women’s fragrances. It’s “crumbly” like an actual… Continue reading | 8 Comments
