Hugo Boss Intense For Women EDP Perfume Review

The Mainstream Monday: Sniffing a Popular Fragrance

Hugo Boss Intense “Woman” is a woody floriental launched in 2003. It was created for “a woman with initiative“. It was one of those ad campaigns where the lady is sexy and in charge, “an intensely feminine and sensual fragrance with a sophisticated edge that makes it distinct.” My overall impression is that Boss Intense is a fragrance trying very hard to be sexy. From the woodsy floral notes to the red and black bottle, this is a fragrance that is trying… Continue reading | 7 Comments

Bath & Body Works Dark Kiss Body Lotion Review

Bath and Body Works Dark Kiss Lotion review

The Mainstream Monday: Sniffing A Popular Fragrance

I’m not much of a fan of Bath and Body Works products for all of the obvious fragrance mishap reasons (florals! their peony scents kill me); however, I do like some of their scents: Vanilla Bean Noel, Brown Sugar & Fig, Warm Vanilla Sugar….I like their rich, creamy scents. In the past few years, they’ve had some winners in the limited edition circuit. Bath & Body Works… Continue reading | 12 Comments

Thierry Mugler Womanity EDP Perfume Review

Thierry Mugler Womanity EDP review

I feel really bad for Thierry Mugler Womanity EDP. Can you imagine being the little sister of Angel and Alien? You may not like any of these scents, but you have to admit that Mugler fragrances are memorable. You either love them or  you hate them. They make you express your opinion. Poor little sis, Womanity, has to follow in these audacious divas’ footsteps even if she doesn’t want to. If any other mainstream line launched Womanity, we (perfume consumers) would all be surprised and love it… Continue reading | 19 Comments

Ralph Lauren Notorious EDP Perfume Review

Mainstream Monday: Sniffing A Popular Fragrance

Ralph Lauren describes this scent as being “a provocative accessory of modern glamour”.  The inspiration includes those amazing sirens of Old Hollywood including Ingrid Bergman and Lauren Bacall. This fragrance was created by Olivier Gillotin (nose behind such amazing scents as 10 Corso Como and Tom Ford Private Blends Tobacco Vanille and less than amazing Ed Hardy and Mariah Carey scents) and launched in 2008. This spicy oriental caught my attention for the Old Hollywood references and glamorous Laetitia Casta ads. I… Continue reading | 5 Comments

Victoria’s Secret Very Sexy EDP Perfume Review

The Mainstream Monday: Sniffing A Popular Fragrance

Victoria’s Secret Very Sexy EDP is a floral oriental blend that tries very hard to be seductive. I think of it as a floral oriental for those that did not live through the 80’s to experience the heavy floral oriental genre. It is more of a “now” floriental. It’s a bit more fresh and floraly.

At first spritz, I kind of like this fragrance. I pick up a spicy mandarin. It’s refreshing and zesty. This energizing top note quickly fades… Continue reading
