Penhaligon’s Elisabethan Rose EDT Fragrance Review
Rose Week 2012
I love rose because rose has many personalities. A rose can be so many things. Because of these multiple personalities, you never know what to expect with a rose soliflore.
Penhaligon’s Elisabethan Rose opens up as a citrusy and sharp rose. It’s most definitely rose geranium. The top is sharp, effervescent, playing up the citrus quality of roses without smelling like lemon zest. The rose smells slightly “florist-y” meaning that it smells refrigerated and cool to the sniffer. Think cool aldehydes and… Continue reading | 2 Comments

Parfumerie Generale No. 25 Indochine EDT Perfume Review
I have limited exposure to Parfumerie Generale and because of Indochine, I realize that I need more exposure to this line. If half of their fragrances are as good as Indochine, then this is a line worth checking out.
Indochine is a rich, sweet tonka-benzoin-vanilla. You do smell the dried resinous benzoin. But, what makes this better than sniffing a jar of benzoin resins is that Indochine is complimented by cool spices like cardamom. The honey shows up on my skin. Remember, honey likes… Continue reading | 6 Comments

Tommi Sooni Eau de Tommi Sooni II EDT Perfume Review
I mentioned in my best of 2011 post that the Tommi Sooni line is the luxury perfume line to try in 2012. This line has mastered the art of “modern classics”. The scents seem familiar (they are based on classic chypre formulas, etc.) but the scents are updated and perfected. This master blending paired with expensive smelling ingredients makes this a luxury line worth trying. And lovers of Guerlain-esque gourmands must try Eau de Tommi Sooni II.
It’s been… Continue reading | 3 Comments

Happy New Year’s Eve! Aura Bubbly Candle Review
I hope you all are having a safe and fun New Year’s Eve! I’m boring and staying in for my own pani puri party, champagne and 1940′s comedies. My candle of the evening is perfect. It’s Aura Bubbly.
Bubbly smells like bubbly. It’s dry, tart and slightly fruity sweet like wine grapes and freshly sliced apples. As the candle burns, it keeps that dry champagne and table grape aroma but also gains a warm, fresh “out of the dryer” towel scent because it is warm… Continue reading | 2 Comments
