    Roxana Illuminated Perfume Green Witch

    Naturals Week – April 22-29th

Green Witch by Roxana Illuminated Perfume is a green chypre inspired by the sea. The scent is inspired by the book, The Greenwitch by Susan Cooper.

The perfume is green, very green. The liquid even has a slight greenness. Green Witch opens with bitter galbanum and a bright bergamot. It’s a sharp green scent. There’s a hint of rose, a damp rose. The scent smells wild, untamed. It reminds me of vines… Continue reading | 7 Comments

    Providence Perfume Co. Ginger Lily

    Naturals Week – April 22-29

Providence Perfume Co. Ginger Lily is a spicy floriental that will warm you up.

At first spritz, I get a spicy orange with a little bit of dill. Yes, dill. After 3 minutes, I get a heady, creamy tropical florals with ginger and a juicy bitter orange oil. By 10 minutes, all of this has meshed together creating a lovely spicy floral. The ylang-ylang in this perfume is amazing. It has a natural fruitiness. With the… Continue reading | 1 Comment

    Aftelier Face Elixir

    Naturals Week April 22-April 29th

My skin has changed. It’s been very dehydrated and dry. My usual skincare is not working for me now. Inspired by Beauty Huile and Eyeliner on a Cat, I’ve decided to start using oil-based facial moisturizers at night. Many years ago I only used oils as moisturizers. I’m such a product flirt. I moved on and starting using whatever new shiny thing there was out there. Why did I ever stop using oils? My… Continue reading | 5 Comments

  • Esscentual Alchemy That 70′s Smell Perfume Oil Review

    Date: 2012.03.06 | Category: fragrance | Response: 4

    Gino Vannelli 1976

Esscentual Alchemy That 70′s Smell is a earthy, resinous, aromatic green perfume. Yeah, it could be described as “hippie” but I think of at as a very spiritual and ancient perfume.

That 70′s Smell is “strong”. The opening for me is cool/medicinal lavender with frankincense and tons of earthy vetiver. It seems very “ancient”, like 70 B.C.E instead of 1970 C.E.! It reminds me of ancient resins, woods, balsams. After 15 minutes of wear, That 70′s Smell takes an unexpected turn. It becomes greener on me. It… Continue reading | 4 Comments

  • Roxana Illuminated Perfume Hedera Helix Review

    Date: 2012.02.24 | Category: fragrance | Response: 4

    Roxana Illuminated Perfumes Hydra Helix

Roxana Illuminated Perfume is a line of artisanal perfumes that are hand-crafted using natural ingredients in a base of organic grape and grain alcohol. Inspired by English ivy, Hedera Helix is described as “Spiraling into a sweet pasture of verdant ivy, on a mossy bed of flowers.” And it is. Hedera Helix is a wonderfully complex chypre with layers.

Hedera Helix is a green. If Hedera Helix were a color, it’d be a deep emerald green, like the shade of ivy. Hedera Helix is… Continue reading | 4 Comments
