Mainstream Monday: Sniffing a Popular Perfume

This month Heidi Klum launches her “first” perfume, Shine. I put that in quotations because I hear that she has launched perfumes in other countries before. This is her first big American launch. Watch the video review above for some of my favorite Heidisms. She is an entertaining gal. I do think she’s funny. Unlike other supermodels, we have gotten to “know” Heidi throughout the years from Project Runway. She says funny things. Are they intentionally funny? I don’t know. But, I really do like  her.

Arcana Murder Ballad Blues perfume oil

Every August I start to crave blackberry perfumes. When these musky fruits start to turn black on their thorny branches, I want to smell like fruit. I love blackberries. I love to eat them, pick them, and evidently, smell like them.

OK, you better like fruit if you are trying Murder Ballad Blues. Immediately,  I get a thick blackberry jam with a warm, sweet muskiness. With time it seems that Murder Ballard Blues gets even “jammier” and the blackberry gets more… Continue reading | 18 Comments

Miracle is a pink perfume, but in comparison to all of the cupcake fodder that followed, Miracle isn’t sweet. Why did I remember it as so? Oh, because the juice is literally pink and I’ve been brainwashed to believe that all “pink” perfumes… Continue reading | 2 Comments

    Caron L'Anarchiste EDT

My newest fragrance obsession is the entire Caron line, a line that I have always liked but didn’t explore completely. I didn’t realize until recently that they have masculine fragrances! A generous fragrance friend shared the masculines with me. I’m impressed. They’re good. L’Anarachiste is the modern masculine in the line. With the name and the notes, I was wanted something more Sex Pistols with saftey pins through its perfumed ears. Instead, I get something that reminds me of Hollywood Moses. And I love that… Continue reading | 10 Comments

  • Wiggle Little Five Perfume Oil Review

    Wiggle Perfume Little Five

I ordered a few samples form Wiggle Perfume (as you know, review of Nicosia here), a local Olympia line. Ordering on-line, I went with the descriptions. I really felt a connection with perfume, Little 5. I’m a gal now living in the Northwest that grew up in the Southeastern U.S., spending my time between Nashville and Atlanta, family still in both places. Mrs. Wiggle “got me” with her description of this fragrance:
For me, it all started in Little Five Points, Atlanta… Continue reading | 3 Comments
