    Notable Scents

Writing about fragrances that move me, I seek to demystify the world of scents so that everyone can enjoy them.
My dear friend, DJ Ron, has finally started a perfume blog! We’ve spent years emailing each other back and forth giving our perfume impressions, talking about our current lemmings and the occasional celeb snark here and there. I could go on and on talking about what an admirable friend Ron has been, but let’s talk perfume. That’s why you’re reading EauMG, right?

Mainstream Monday – Sniffing a Popular Perfume

After the success of Guerlain Homme, the world was given Guerlain Homme Intense. It’s the same idea but it’s supposed to have more depth and last longer, blah, blah. It’s not a bad fragrance but it isn’t a good Guerlain. Maybe I’m just being harsh like the top notes of this fragrance.

    Guerlain Homme Intense EDP

Homme Intense opens with a minty freshness and garden greens. It’s very sharp and harsh in my opinion. It… Continue reading | 2 Comments

Mainstream Monday: Sniffing a Popular Fragrance

Launched in 1976, Z-14 is a fragrance that contains every note in the universe. It’s loud and it throws. Because of this, it’s a polarizing fragrance. You either love or hate it. Or love it 50% of the time and hate it the rest of the time. I’m in the “love” team of Z-14. It’s a wonderful manly scent, very Boogie Nights, a perfume on the prowl in a discotheque.

    Lacoste Pour Homme EDT

Mainstream Monday – Sniffing A Popular Perfume

I gave Lacoste Pour Homme a try because I was surprised at how much I loved Lacoste Pour Femme, a wonderful and soft ambrette musk with awful branding/marketing. Maybe Lacoste Pour Homme would be a pleasant surprise too. It wasn’t.

This is an EDT/mainstream men’s fragrance, so the alcohol content is high. At first spritz, I’m reminded of an alcoholic, his preference is rum and gin, and he oversprays himself in boring, generic aquatic-apple… Continue reading | 9 Comments

  • Paco Rabanne Ultraviolet Man EDT Men’s Fragrance Review

The Mainstream Monday: Sniffing a Popular Perfume

All I know of Paco Rabanne is that he is the designer that designed all those bizzare-o Barbarella costumes. Well, the guy has many perfumes and colognes as well, the most recent one to have 15 minutes of fame has been Lady Million (ick). Paco Rabanne fragrances aren’t very popular in the U.S. In fact, until recently, I thought they were only sold in the U.K.! Anyways, Ultraviolet Man is a bit sci-fi. Imagine… Continue reading | 9 Comments
