Zoologist Dragonfly Perfume Review

Zoologist Dragonfly perfume

A frightened gasp broke through the lazy, haziness of a very warm Southern evening. It was the sort of sound that would follow someone being startled by a swiftly moving rodent (or these days, whenever you read any bit of news). My friend’s aunt jumped out of her lawn chair as if she was being attacked by wasps. I didn’t see anything. She shouted, “Dragonfly!” which I thought was some sort of slang. There was no way that someone could be that scared of a dragonfly. She explained that… Continue reading

PURPLE FLOWERS WEEK 2017

It’s an annual tradition on EauMG to feature “purple flowers” on the week of Nowruz/Vernal Equinox. “Purple flowers” are what I call flowers that (usually) have purple blossoms and bloom in spring: lilacs, violets, iris, heliotrope, hyacinth and wisteria (when I’m feeling generous). Parfums de Rosine Rose des Neiges EDP Perfume Review

Rosine Roses des Neiges

Parfums Rosine’s newest perfume is a fragrance inspired by snow, Rose de Neiges. It’s supposed to bring to mind a rose garden in frost. Is Rose de Neiges the rose I’ve been waiting for?

Rose de Neiges reminds me of snow cream. It’s a linear fragrance and if… Continue reading | 7 Comments

Yves Rocher Cerisier en Fleurs EDT Perfume Review

Yves Rocher Cerisier en Fleurs

Mainstream Monday: Sniffing a Popular Perfume

If you’re reading EauMG because you’re already really, really into perfume, then I’m sure you’ve heard of this fragrance. This perfume created some buzz a few years ago because it retails for under $30 and the Nose behind it is Francis Kurkdjian. Really, I can’t believe there’s perfume that retails for under $30. And I also was amused that Kurkdjian was working on such accessible perfumes when he has his own brand.

Yves Rocher Vanille Noire EDP Perfume Review

Yves Rocher Vanille Noir

Mainstream Monday – Sniffing a Popular Perfume

Yves Rocher is one of those brands that I’m usually very happy with, but I don’t really buy it. Why? It’s only available online in the US and I forget about them. It’s that simple. When I travel elsewhere, I’ll stop in the store, sample a few things and even buy a few things and wonder why I don’t buy more from them. I usually like their shower gels and a few of their skincare items. However, I think… Continue reading | 11 Comments
