  • Crazylibellule & The Poppies Ananas Imperial Solid Perfume Review

    Date: 2010.09.02 | Category: fragrance | Response: 11

Crazylibellule & The Poppies Shanghaïjava Ananas Imperial Crazystick is a fruity pineapple solid perfume in very cute  packaging. It’s a simple scent, even in comparison to other Crazysticks in the Shanghaïjava Collection.

The Shanghaïjava Collection has so many solid perfumes that I like. The collection is diverse but I really fell hard for the earthy and mystical resinous fragrances. I gave Ananas Imperial a try because I have nothing like it in my collection. I am not a… Continue reading | 11 Comments

  • Crazylibellule & The Poppies Musc et Patchouli Crazystick Perfume Review

    Date: 2010.07.15 | Category: fragrance | Response: 8

I love Crazylibellue & The Poppies. These are my cheap fragrant thrills. The Shanhaïjava Collection has been my favorite so far, love Encens Mystic. However, I haven’t tried (bought) all of the Les Garçonnes yet. Musc & Patchouli is one of my favorites. It’s simple. It’s woodsy and musky. If you like patchouli or musk, then you should like this solid perfume.

This fragrance is a comfort scent for me. I have always loved musk and patchouli as fragrance notes. The dirtier the better. As I’ve matured, my tastes have… Continue reading | 8 Comments

The Mainstream Monday: Sniffing A Popular Fragrance

Dolce & Gabbana “Classic” EDT, the one in the red, is one of my favorite department store fragrances. I am not the kind of person that can go to Macy’s and find many fragrances that I like. However, this is one that many department stores carry and I love. It is warming, intoxicating, and it smells very “expensive”. This oriental fragrance wears very resiny and soft on me. It has a blast of citrus and refined flowers, but it smells woodsy and powdery. In my mind… Continue reading | 2 Comments

  • More of the 1920′s: Get The Look Of Josephine Baker

Date: 2010.01.15 | Category: makeup, makeup instruction, vintage | Response: 2

Josephine was such a beautiful and talented person making her a perfect icon. This is an ad for her hair product. Here look would look amazing on anyone with warm undertones. Here’s how to get this look:

FACE: Apply a concealer if needed. I love the creaminess of Lancome Maquicomplet Complete Coverage Concealer. Apply a powder foundation such as MAC Studio Fix Powder Foundation. With a powder foundation, no finishing powder is really needed. Josephine’s cheeks are pretty bare. For myself… Continue reading | 2 Comments

  • Crazylibellule & The Poppies Les Garçonnes Pompon Gardenia Fragrance Review

    Date: 2009.10.20 | Category: fragrance, vintage | Response: 5

So far, I am really loving Les Garçonnes fragrance collection. Pompon Gardenia is an amazing heady white floral blend with sweet lime. This is one of my favorite white florals ever. I love a super feminine white floral and this is a winner with its blend of gardenia, lilies, and lime.

I assume that the inspiration for Pompon Gardenia was François Pompon, a 20′s era sculptor and Rodin’s assistant. I’ve always remembered him for his sleek chouettes. But, it could just be pompon as a fashion accessory. I don’t know… Continue reading | 5 Comments
